Yes, I saw that. I felt a bit sorry for the seller as it spoilt his auction.
Apparently the buyer messaged him immediately asking for a cancellation.
Not sure if I would have granted it, I might have just waited and gone with unpaid item and applied to have any fee charges cancelled.
Ebay's reply is well, he can offer it to another bidder down the list, but I don't see that working well because once others start to opt out, the lower bidders would be left thinking they should too.
