And yet they still refuse to do a thing about all the death trap batteries etc etc and all the other hazardous items when they get reported

Popular lunchbox snack Chickadees have been pulled from shelves after rubber was found inside several pack sizes.
Chickadees recall
Snackbrands Australia’s chicken-flavoured snack was found to have been contaminated with rubber, according to a statement from Food Standards Australia.
Batches affected include the Chickadees Multipack 6x19g with best-before dates on August 1, August 8, and August 12 this year.
The recall also includes 190g packs with a best-before date on August 15, 2026, and the 90g and 45g varieties that have best-before dates of December 12, 2026.
The packs are sold in Woolworths, Coles, IGA and other independent grocers and convenience stores.
Customers are being warned not to eat these products and that foods containing rubber may cause illness or injury if consumed.
Any purchased variety of these products should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Anyone concerned about their health is urged to seek medical advice.

A popular baby food product sold at supermarkets across the country has been urgently recalled over an undeclared allergen.
The food regulator issued a recall notice on Friday for ALDI Mamia Organic brand baby puffs due the undeclared presence of gluten.
In the notice, Food Standards warned any consumer with a gluten allergy or intolerance might have a reaction if the product is consumed.
“Consumers who have a gluten allergy or intolerance should not consume these products,” the notice said.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
Both the apple and cinnamon and blueberry and carroty flavours were affected by the recall.
They were sold at ALDI supermarkets in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, and the ACT.
Buyers were urged to return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.

A number of imported pasteurized cow’s and goat’s milk cheeses are being recalled due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recalled products were all produced by French manufacturer Chavegrand.
FSANZ is working with state and territory food enforcement agencies and food businesses to recall affected products. Australian government authorities are also working with international counterparts to manage this issue.
No cases of illness linked to these products have been reported in Australia.
Consumers are advised not to eat the products listed below and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.

Recall for Aldi favourite over glass fears
Dumplings sold at Aldi may contain glass, as food safety authorities pull a range of frozen gyoza off shelves for the second time in two months.
On Friday, Food Standards Australia was forced to issue a second recall notice over concerns Aldi’s own brand frozen Urban Eats vegetable gyoza have glass in the packet.
“The recall is due to the presence of foreign matter (glass),” the recall notice says.
“Food products containing glass may cause illness/injury if consumed.
“Consumers should not eat this product. Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
“Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice.”
In July the exact same frozen product was recalled over the same concerns.
The 750g, green-packaging frozen dumplings were sold across the country except in Tasmania and the Northern Territory.
In this latest glass scare, the affected batches are marked with best before dates from April 10, 2027 to June 15, 2027.
The batches affected in July had similar best before dates, stretching to March 27, 2027.

Fantastic Furniture is recalling a dining chair over fears the legs may break during use.
The Dimi dining chair in both black and white, which was sold nationally and online between June 2019 and May this year, is being recalled due to a manufacturing defect.
Consumers should stop using the chairs immediately and return them to Fantastic Furniture for a full refund or exchange.
"The chair legs may break during use due to a manufacturing defect," the recall notice said.
"There is a risk of injury if the chair legs break during use. Incidents have occurred."

Due to presence of black rubber pieces IKEA urges all customers who have bought SLAGVERK breaded wheat-based pieces 500g, frozen, with article number: 205.588.94 and Best Before Date 19-08-2025 (DD-MM-YYYY) to contact IKEA in Australia for a full refund. Other Best Before Dates and other markets are not affected by this recall.

A range of life jackets have been recalled over fears an inflator malfunction could lead to potential drownings.
The recall notice is related to the 3F single point manual inflator in Life Jacket Solutions and Marlin life jackets.
The inflators are installed in a number of models of jacket across both companies, including models T150M, G150M, B150M, WB100, PR150M, and SRSS150 from Life Jacket Solutions, and model MK150 from Marlin.
The inflators in question are marked on the grey plastic part with "V96000 Halkey Roberts ®" and have a manufacture date between June 4, 2021 and April 15, 2024, which will be printed in the MM/DD/YY format.
"The indicator status on the inflator may show the life jacket is ready for use even when the attached gas cylinder is empty, removed or not connected properly," Product Safety Australia said in its recall notice.
"The life jacket cannot inflate when this happens."

The national food safety agency has recalled a batch of hot cross buns sold at South Australian supermarkets because of the possible presence of glass.
Food Standards Australia New Zealand warned of the "presence of foreign matter", which it identified as glass, in the nine-packs of the mini fruit hot cross buns.
The buns are sold under the brand The Little Dough Co. and have a date marking of March 3, the agency said.
It said the buns could pose a hazard, and urged consumers not to eat them.
It said the recall was being conducted on behalf of retailer Foodland.
"Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
"Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice."
The agency advised anyone seeking further information to contact Foodland Promotions.
SA Health has shared information about the recall on social media "in the interests of public awareness".
In a statement, its executive director of health protection and regulation, Chris Lease, said he was not aware of any reports of injuries, but added that "contamination of any food product is of concern".
"Foodland is conducting a voluntary recall in response to a customer complaint," Dr Lease said.
"We are not aware of any incidents of injury related to the affected product.
"We urge anyone who may have purchased this product to check the date marking, not to consume them, and return them to their place of purchase for a full refund."

A stovetop simmer sauce sold in major supermarkets around the country is being pulled from shelves over health fears.
Mars Australia Pty Ltd is carrying out a recall of its MasterFoods Creamy Chicken And Mushroom Cooking Sauce (490g).
The product contains an undeclared allergen - in this case, egg, according to Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
The cooking sauce has been sold in Coles, Woolworths, and independent grocers including IGA, in every state and territory.
The recall applies to jars with the best before dates of 17/11/2025, 22/12/2025, 16/02/2026, 20/04/2026, and 15/06/2026.
"Any consumers who have an egg allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed," Food Standards warned in its recall notice.

Australia's major food and drink retailers are being asked to remove a soft drink from their shelves after the company issued a nationwide product recall.
Strangelove Beverage Company is recalling its 'Salted Grapefruit by Strangelove' drink in 180ml and 540ml sizes, which have been available for sale at Coles, Woolworths, Dan Murphys, BWS, First Choice, Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and independent retailers nationwide.
Unintended fermentation is the company's given reason for the recall, with a possible risk of the products "containing excess alcohol and carbonation" which "may result in bottle breakage or popping caps, and illness/ injury" cited.
If customers have purchased drinks with the listed Best Before dates, Strangelove advises them to not drink or open them, and dispose of them safely.

Good grief, you'd think a basic thing like having a suitable food container that didn't melt when heated would have been well and truly sorted before the product was put on the market.
