All my Items had there price changed after switching from Free selling to Pro subscription

Summary: ab160893 experienced an issue after switching from a free selling account to a pro plan, where the prices of their items dropped due to changes in how eBay applies buyer protection fees. They are concerned about the impact on their earnings as these are not accounted for in their pro account pricing. *casey* and gutterpunkz05 explained that the buyer protection fee, applied under the free plan, is a separate fee paid to eBay and not to the seller, suggesting that ab160893 should adjust their listings' prices. e_purchasing recommended using bulk editing tools to adjust prices by approximately 12% to accommodate eBay's fees.

You know how with free selling accounts the item price and buyer price is separated, well i listed over 300 items based on the buyer price since thats the price that has to compete with other sellers but as i have ALOT more to list i decided to change to pro plan but all my items have had there price changed to the item price so essentially every single item is now cheaper that i listed them for.

Something i previously listed for $950 is now $903.17 and then ill have the transaction fees coming out of the $903.17 not the $950 Buyer price i initally listed at.

Anybody got any ideas on what i should do?
Do i really have to go and re-price 300+ listings?

just use either the bulk listing editor tool or the upload tool (edit prices) and increase the prices by 12% (being the approx eBay fee) and then tweek them

When you change from Free Selling to a Pro account, eBay automatically removes the buyer protection fee on the listings . The fee only applies to Free Selling.

The buyer protection fee would have been paid to eBay anyway, not to you.

You’ll need to revise and increase the prices on your listings if you’re not happy with the prices showing now.

Yes but since i listed based on the price the buyer pays NOT the item price, All my prices are now exactly the buyer protection fee less and I still have to pay transaction fees on top.

That is because as a pro seller ebay do not add buyer protection, which is paid to ebay not the seller, to the price. The amount you would receive prior to ebays fees as a pro seller is unchanged.

"The amount you would receive prior to ebays fees as a pro seller is unchanged."
    This is incorrect.

$950 + $50 is the price i listed my item for the buyer to pay this should not change regardless of what my account is.

Free selling account was $903.17 That i would receive after all fees.

Now with pro account it should be $867.77 ($950 - Transaction fees) but since they decided to use the item price NOT the buyer price from my free selling account listing if someone would of bought the item immediatly after i changed my account i would only receive $827.07 so id of lost $40.07 due to the buyer being able to pay less.

My comment is correct, Price you receive prior to ebay fees is unchanged.

Yes after ebays seller FVF is paid you receive less, but that has nothing to do with the removal of the buyer protection fee from your istings, as a free seller. That buyer protection fee was never yours, it was an ebay fee applied to and payable by the buyer to ebay, it was added to your item price by ebay so that a buyer was shown the total amount payable by them. Not the total amount payable to you the seller.

Its a direct result of them removing them.

Buyer protection fee and Transaction fees are the exact same thing just packaged differently and different percentage.

Rubbish, the buyer protection fee as applied to listings of free sellers, is the first time a buyer has ever had to pay a fee to ebay. Sorry but it can not be any clearer that this particular fee, is payable by the buyer and is payable to ebay, not you.

As a pro seller, buyer protection is now incorporated into seller FVF at no additional cost to the long standing FVF. So there is no reason for the extra buyer fee to appear on your listings
