Original credit card compromised & now cancelled. How to now pay for received telescopic lens?

Summary: In this discussion, initiated by val-20837, the main concern is about a compromised and cancelled credit card. The issue at hand is how to proceed with payment for a received telescopic lens now that the original payment method is unavailable. The discussion prompts responses from sandypebbles, davewil1964, and gutterpunkz05, although the specific content of these responses is not detailed in the provided data.

I need to re-organise payment for my telescopic lens order which arrived today.
My credit card  was being compromised & I have had to cancel this card and the amount owing for the lens.

Will the best way to now make payment  for the lens on my new card be to repay on my new credit card?

If so how do I do this?  ie Who should I send it to & do I quote the old order number & item number & send the amount owing using my new credit card details after it arrives?

Hi there, just wondering if you used an after pay/pay in 4 provider to fund the purchase, just can not figure out why the original payment would be reversed  or why there would be an amount owing.  If you did use an after pay type service, the seller has been fully paid and you will need to update your payment details with the service provider for future payments.

I replied to this but it seems to have been Fridayed.

Check with your bank that the payment was cancelled. Check your account to ensure that it is no showing that you have paid for the item.

Come back and let us know the results so we can offer more targeted information.

I am a bit confused as to why the seller would have sent it if it had not already been successfully paid for before you cancelled the card?

Are you absolutely 100% certain it was not when dealing with this seller in question that led to your card being compromised ?

Same here sandy, wondering if the OP did a specific chargeback. Don't know why else the bank would reverse a legitimate transaction and I can not see why any seller would send an item before it is paid for
