How do I connect my bank details to receive a payment

Summary: The discussion centers on medehunt seeking advice on connecting bank details to receive a payment. Several participants, including twyngwyn, sandypebbles, and *casey*, joined the conversation, but their responses did not contain substantive content.

I have just sold my first thing on EBAY and accepted offer and they want me to go through Trustly to give my bank log in details with passwords etc. How safe is this and can I give my account number and BSB instead somehow for direct transfer.

Yes, manually enter your bank account details

When you're verified with both your personal and bank details, you'll be subject to a transaction hold

As you're on the Free Selling plan, your payment will be On Demand,  not automatically transferred to your account

"I have just sold my first thing on EBAY and accepted offer and they want me to go through Trustly to give my bank log in details with passwords"

There was another thread about this last week

    https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Selling/Setting-up-sales-on-Ebay/m-p/2648525

For any new sellers worried about using Trustly:

Trustly is an open banking partner used by eBay to securely verify your bank account details for seller payouts.

It allows you to link your bank account without manually entering your bank account details.

    Verification

When setting up Managed Payments as a seller, eBay may prompt you to log in to your bank using Trustly

    Manual Alternative

If you are uncomfortable sharing your bank log in credentials with a third party, you do not have to use Trustly.

You can bypass by choosing " My bank is not listed" (even if it is) and manually inputting your bank account details

    Security and Privacy

    Encryption

Trustly uses bank level encryption and does not store your online  banking  username or password

    Third Party Role

Trustly simply acts as a secure way to pass your bank account details to eBay for verification

    Seller Tip

If you are hesitant to link your primary account, many sellers create a separate bank account dedicated exclusively to their  eBay transactions

Trustly is safe to use but if you go to 'my bank is not listed', even if it is, you should have the option to enter your bank account details manually

All sellers have to be signed up to Managed Payments

Which should have been done before listing anything for sale

You cannot 'get around it' and direct bank transfer is not an option
