Latest update on Australia Post & US deliveries
Summary: m6xqx7 provides an update regarding the resumption of Australia Post's international parcel services to the US from September 22, 2025. What you need to know
From 22 September 2025, Australia Post has resumed most international parcel services to the US and its Overseas Territories. This follows the temporary suspension caused by recent changes to US import tariff rules.
To comply with the new rules, all Australia Post Business Contract and MyPost Business customers must register with Zonos and set up a free Zonos Verified Account.
Business Parcel Contract customers: provide your Merchant Location ID (MLID).
MyPost Business customers: provide your Australia Post Business Customer Number (APBCN).
Shipments not linked to a Zonos Verified Account will be returned to sender and may attract additional processing fees.
At this stage, Australia Post international labels on eBay Labels remain disabled until we finalise updates with Australia Post.
Important: eBay cannot currently calculate or collect U.S. duties at checkout. If you want buyers to cover these costs, you must build them into your U.S. postage rates (e.g. via Postage Rate Tables).

Register with Zonos as soon as possible to avoid delays once services resume.

Sellers with a variety of product price points
If you sell across multiple price points, a single flat increase may not work well. For example, a $20 item may incur a few dollars in duties, while a $500 item may attract $50+ in duties. To avoid overcharging on low-value items or undercharging on higher-value ones, you can:
Set up multiple U.S. rate tables and apply them by product type or category.
Example 1: Apparel under AU$100 → +AU$10 uplift in shipping.
Example 2: Apparel AU$100–AU$300 → +AU$30 uplift.
Example 3: Items over AU$300 → +AU$50 uplift.
Apply these rate tables in bulk through Business Policies..
Add a short reassurance in your listings, e.g. “Shipping cost includes U.S. duties and tariffs—no extra fees on delivery.”
If you don’t wish to send to the US:
You can exclude the United States from your listings via Business Policies > Excluded Locations, or in the Postage section when creating a listing.
Remember, there are still millions of buyers around the world if you choose to exclude US deliveries.
Additional carrier option
In addition to Australia Post resuming on 22 September, Sendle has confirmed its U.S. services are now operating under a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) model, where duties and taxes are collected upfront. This ensures compliance with new U.S. import requirements and avoids duties being charged to buyers on delivery.
