From February 2025, e-bikes, e-scooters, e-skateboards and self-balancing scooters, and their associated lithium-ion batteries, sold in NSW must comply with new safety standards. These standards are being introduced to help protect you and your customers from battery-related risks.
Mandatory testing and certification requirements for these devices will also be introduced in August 2025. Mandatory labelling on these devices will be required from February 2026.
Further information on the safety standards and how to comply can be found here.
