We’re improving the Authenticity Guarantee process
Summary: m6xqx7 announced improvements to the Authenticity Guarantee program for luxury handbags on eBay. Starting January, the authentication process will not only check the authenticity of the item but also ensure the listing's accuracy. In cases of discrepancies between the item and its listing, both buyers and sellers will receive detailed notifications within the eBay site. Sellers will find these in their Seller Hub, while buyers will receive emails and notifications in their Purchase History and Order Details, inviting them to respond via the new 'Inspection Details' page.
We’ve heard your feedback on our Authenticity Guarantee program and we’re making some improvements to make our Handbag authentication process more efficient.
Our authentication process for luxury handbags involves checking two things, firstly that the item is authentic and secondly, that the listing is accurate.
In some cases, items can be authentic but our experts discover a discrepancy between the item and how it was described in the listing. When this happens, eBay communicates to the buyer what the discrepancy is and gives the buyer the opportunity to either proceed with the purchase or return the item back to the seller.
From January, both buyers and sellers will be alerted when a discrepancy is found and be provided with details of the issue within the eBay site.
Sellers will see notifications in their Seller Hub.
Buyers will be emailed Listing Accuracy details along with notifications in Purchase History and View Order Details pages asking for a response via our new ‘Inspection Details’ page.
