Double Charge.

I don't know if this is the place I should air this but if not if someone could direct me to the correct place I would greatly appreciate it.
Back on the 19 February 2025 I ordered a part from America. It was advertised on eBay but I paid for it with PayPal. (BIG MISTAKE). I didn't think much of it at the time and when the item arrived I didn't think to check on the transaction that was charged to my credit card. However earlier this year I had cause to go back over my credit card statements looking for a payment I had made around the same time. I then discovered that I had been charged twice for the item. I contacted PayPal who just said it was nothing to do with them and to contact the seller or my bank and washed their hands of the matter.
I contacted the seller who said they had not received a double payment so I contacted my bank. They were also unable to help me and said I would have to get in touch with eBay. Well here I am but I don't know if this is the right area or if someone can direct me to somewhere else in eBay where I can raise this issue.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In answer to sandypebbles - yes they were definitely two separate payments on the same day.

Are you telling us that eBay staff do read here and will reach out to members privately and help them?
It never happened on the real eBay community forum, are we seriously expected to believe it will happen on this thing?
Maybe you would like to explain WHY I and many others are skeptical
We have very good reason to be, especially when we have not had ANY reason to believe otherwise since this new forum was trust upon us. Case in point, new threads being locked as soon as they are posted, preventing members from helping

And it was I who suggested the issue might be because it was too long ago, after I realised the OP had said 2025 and not 2026, so don't make out that was an AI addition

eBay staff have started posting here, but I doubt they read people's posts since they never did when we had our REAL member to member forum (ebay killed that off last week and replaced it with this joke)
Was one a 'pending' payment and the other the 'real' payment?
Otherwise, it is very odd that your bank refuses to help if yo have two actual charges when you only authorised one
