Hi All,

I live in Europe (Finland) but have sold some items on eBay.com.au. The items are shipped from AU too.

eBay would not let me link my Australian bank account for the payout as I am resident in Finland. Then when I try to link my Finnish bank account (and take the eBay hit on the exchange rate!) it keep failing. They deposit 1c as a test to the account then send me an email saying linking was not possible (they dont seem to be able to make the necessary withdrawal of the 1c test).

I have spoken to my bank in Finland and treid several different account but there is no reason from the bank's point of view as to why this would not be working.

eBay is hopeless in trying to resolve this directly as I just get stuck in endless chat loops with consultants who are not able to help. I have requested a call back to speak to someone but that also does not work (deferring to an Australian number even though my Finnish phone number is current in my account info).

I simply want to get my money from eBay!

Has anyone else dealt with this clash of seller location and bank account location? How did you solve it?

All would be find if they could pay out to my Paypal for instance..... but I simply cant get a response from eBay on that.

Arghhhhhh!

There is absolutely no way you will be paid to Paypal

It has not been a thing for any seller in over four years

Your “Payout Entity” is the eBay Payment Entity associated with the country in which you reside or are established as a business. Your Payout Entity is assigned to you as illustrated in the table below, unless you and we otherwise agree. You will receive all disbursements to your Linked Financial Account from this entity, regardless of where you list your items.
If you sell an item listed on an eBay site whose Responsible Payment Entity is also your Payout Entity, your Payout Entity will process the sale and settle the corresponding funds to your Linked Financial Account. For example, if your Payout Entity is ECCA, your funds awaiting payout from sales on ebay.ca will be processed and settled to your Linked Financial Account by ECCA.
If you sell an item listed on an eBay site whose Responsible Payment Entity differs from your Payout Entity, the Responsible Payment Entity will process the sale and transfer the corresponding funds to your Payout Entity, which will receive the funds on your behalf and in turn disburse them to your Linked Financial Account. For example, if your Payout Entity is eCI and you reside in an “Additional Country” (as such term is defined in the chart below), your funds awaiting payout from sales on ebay.de will be managed by eBay Sarl and settled to eCI. eCI will then disburse the funds to your Linked Financial Account.

Your ebay account is registered in Finland, which falls under ebay Sarl, not ebay Australia eCA. As such you should be linking your Finnish ebay and Bank account to the managed payments entity for Sarl. Where items are then listed and sold on alternative ebay sites, the proceeds should be credited to the ebay Sarl payment entity and then distributed to your linked Finnish bank account.
