Cannot see Mark as Sent or add Tracking to Selling/Sold page
Summary: In the discussion about eBay's postage and tracking issues, robsalve-48 shares their frustration over not being able to mark an item as sent or input a tracking number for items valued over $20, despite having already mailed the item through an alternative service. davewil1964 and lezned-toycollector respond by suggesting that the issue is due to eBay's requirement for using their postage labels when selling items for free and that providing correct parcel weight and dimensions is crucial for the postage label system to work correctly. *casey* asks for clarification on free selling and labeling, while shoppingbag* advises contacting eBay support if the issue persists. The conversation highlights differing opinions on eBay's postage label policy and its impact on sellers.
Cannot Mark as Sent after posting an item, or add Tracking for buyer. These options are missing from the Selling/Sold page, have changes been made?

"I'm not having an issue with noting items as "sent" or uploading Tracking where they are sent at letter rate or <$20"
Thanks.
That's exactly what sellers should be able to do if they're Free Selling, which is why I asked.

·1 month agoWith free listing you are not required to buy a label if the item is under $20, will fit in an envelope and is listed to be sent in an envelope. Anybody telling you any different to this has not read about free listing. I would contact eBay and ask for an agent. If it is listed as "envelope with tracking", you should be able to manually upload tracking, and you certainly should be able to mark it as "sent"

I have a few quick questions for you and your replies could help others.
You're free selling and have postage listed as letters on some items.
Have you had any problems actually listing as letter postage ?
With your sold items that are listed as letter postage (not parcel) so no eBay labels required , are you able to mark as sent or upload tracking ?
No eBay labels are required for items under $20 so are your sold items under $20 able to be marked as sent or upload tracking ?

·1 month agoI'm not having an issue with noting items as "sent" or uploading Tracking where they are sent at letter rate or <$20. I am having an issue with an >$20 item sold that I already paid $15.25 at AP to mail it, then I go to ebay to note tracking number and cannot - I need to send by blxxdy postage label costing $20.50. I won't & stuff ebay!
I bet you will have BIG user complaints.

It is VERY unlikely any ebay staff are going to read here, they did not read the real forum before it was changed to this worse than useless set up
Regardless of what the AI bot at the top of the page spews out, it ain't happening

$20.50 is the Band 2, Zone 2 rate for a 5kg parcel (extra large)
$15.25 is the Band 0 rate for a 1kg parcel (medium)
eBay postage label prices are calculated using the weight/dimensions that you input - information which obviously differs from the actual parcel size/weight.
Had you input the correct details, you'd have found the label price (with savings band discount applied) to be cheaper than purchasing directly from AP (with no discount)... but purchasing a label for a 5kg parcel at the 1kg price is never going to happen.
It's not eBay's fault that you chose to breach their policy, nor is it their fault that you provided incorrect information. So blaming eBay for your own personal choices is probably not the best way to resolve the issue that you, yourself created.
I would suggest that in future you don't try to circumvent eBay policy, and instead input the correct parcel weight/dimensions to get the benefit of cheaper postage rates.

·1 month agoSame problem - there is no option to mark as sent or enter a tracking number - must be a ebay glitch or is it someting to do with this s..t postage labels they are pushing to be used???
davewil1964
·1 month agoThat would be the requirement for free selling that you use eBay labels? Something you were informed about and, presumably chose to ignore?
