Unable to upgrade to proseller, account meets all criteria.
Summary: harcourt_wreckers is facing difficulties upgrading their eBay account to a pro seller plan for their small business, which has been operating since the 1950s. Despite meeting all criteria, the system displays an error indicating they are already subscribed to a store, while their account shows a free selling plan. Attempts to resolve this through eBay's customer support have been unsuccessful, leading to frustration as solutions and follow-ups have not been provided. The issue remains unresolved, hindering the integration of inventory software necessary for business modernization.
Hello,
I’m reaching out to eBay Australia as I have an issue that has so far been unsolvable after many weeks of trying through customer support on eBay.
I own a small business that has been here since the 1950’s.
I’ve had an eBay account since 2014.
I’m looking to modernize my business by adding inventory software.
One of the main draws is that it can integrate with eBay and list the inventory as we add it. But It requires the eBay account it is linked to to be a pro seller.
My problem is that even though my account meets all the criteria, the site will not let me subscribe to a basic pro seller plan.
The issue appears to be that from the eBay end I am already subscribed to a store, therefore it won’t let me subscribe again. The problem with that is that I’m not subscribed to a store and at my end it’s showing my current plan as free selling and comes up with an error message when I try and upgrade.
I have reached out to eBay customer support multiple times and spoken to the offshore call center via callback’s repeatedly. While they were very friendly, and at the beginning were very helpful, I seem to be at the limit of what they can do and as such am being stonewalled when I get through.
It does not appear to be a store token issue, and as far as I can see there is no system status errors for this problem.
At the beginning I was told by customer support to start a new account, that doesn’t work as my company is structured as a trust. My current eBay account is a business one and has all the trust documents linked to it and when I did try to create a new account as soon as I uploaded the trust documents the ai caught the double up and immediately closed the new account (as it should).
There has been no other solution put forward, no time frame given on resolution.
I’ve been told repeatedly that I would get called back within 1-2/24/48/72 hours and never got one, I’m yet to get any follow up or help form eBay customer support.
It seems to be in the too hard basket now and when I get a call back I’m politely bundled off the phone as quickly as possible.
I have a case number, I have screenshots of the error code and my account showing I'm currently set to free selling.
I have exhausted every avenue I can find to no avail.

eBay do not read here (despite what the AI bot would like you to believe)
eBay staff read from a script, everyone who contacts them about anything will get the same 24-72 hours story
As I no longer sell, I can't help you
However other members who are active sellers should be around shortly and may well have suggestions for you
Good luck
