A question a lot of sellers are asking no doubt; why has my ebay stopped selling. No sales
I haven't changed the way I list my items, but over the past few months, my sales have dwindled to nearly nothing. Despite the time and effort I put into this, I'm starting to feel like I'm flogging a dead horse. What is happening to eBay?

My local OP shops would never sell labels such as Basque, Roxy, Kookai, Jane Lamerton, Gordon Smith ,
to name just a few, for $2 or $3, let alone fill a bag for $5

·1 year agoNot just ebay. Sales at craft markets are also lower for most items, apart from food and plants. But that is usual for this time of the year.
My local op shop is constantly doing the "fill a bag for $5" type offer to try to cope with the constant stream of unwanted clothing donations. So any potential buyer of used clothing who lives near an op shop wouldn't be looking on ebay.

I looked at your listings and found the cheapest item is a used blouse for $19.30 (postage inclusive). I have no idea what your local stores charge, but in my area such items are available in the OP shops for $2 or $3. In fact, you can even fill a bag for $5 in one of the stores.
By my calculations, that makes your item priced at around 5 times the current market value. If I stumbled across one of your listings, your prices would have me hitting the back button in a flash.
Also, a lot of buyers are put off when sellers charge more than the actual cost for postage. I'm guessing that blouse would weigh under 250g... if it doesn't, it would definitely fit in the XS satchel, so $11.30 postage would be seen by some as profiteering.
Just a couple of observations.

·1 year agoNo it wasn't. It was you trying to bait an argument, and I won't take your bait.
An observation would be that the product you mention is available from Australia Post for $12.45, and I have it listed for $8.75.
The topic here is why the OP's sales have declined - not how my business model operates. Please stick to the topic.
