I received an offer of $187.00 on an item I listed at $219.98. I accepted the offer, but item was never paid for. After 5 days, I saw I could cancel the sale and relist, which I did. Unresponsive buyer has now put in a dispute asking for a $187.00 refund. eBay has advised me I must refund- although no payment has ever been received at all. Postage address was also strange and incomplete, I doubt I would have been able to post it there even if it was paid for- which it wasn't.

·1 year agoI'd firstly do what the others have advised and double check you have really cancelled that sale with the reason the buyer did not pay.
If you run into problems doing it, get onto ebay chat, request a call back or whatever, speak to someone. I think your main point has to be that the buyer did not pay so no refund is called for.
The address may have been odd but the main point is the buyer never paid in the first place so you need to hammer that point home so that the buyer's claim is cancelled.

Did you use the reason "buyer hasn't paid " ?
What kind of dispute has the buyer opened?

It is still showing in your sold items, so the sale has not been cancelled.
