·8 months agoYou need to state in your description that you want cash only, as I have on some of my fragile items.
If then, buyer chooses to pay direct to eBay, you have the option to cancel sale & re-list. If they want the item, they will re-purchase & turn up with cash.
I have looked at some of your pick-ups, and can’t see where you’ve specified cash only, so how is buyer to know?

·8 months agoYou probably shouldn't be advising others to breach eBay policy - as in abusing the order cancellation process. Just because you do it yourself doesn't mean it's allowed.
As you are aware, regardless of what you state in your listing description, you are obligated to accept any payment method which is offered at checkout.
What type of seller cancels a sale because their buyer paid? That's just ridiculous. The very thought is mind boggling 😲😂
If any seller tried that type of shenanigans on with me, I'd report them in a heartbeat - AND - leave them a rather well deserved and earned red dot for their efforts.
Abusing the order cancellation process
Sellers aren't allowed to abuse the order cancellation process. A seller should never cancel an order and select an incorrect cancellation reason, including falsely claiming that the buyer failed to pay. Learn more in our Unpaid item policy.

You've conveniently overlooked the most basic and first payment option available to all buyers "In addition to paying via eBay checkout". You don't get to only read part of it and ignore the rest if it doesn't suit your agenda.
Under no circumstances are you permitted to refuse a payment method offered at checkout. I've never heard of any seller ever cancelling a sale simply because their buyer paid. Doing so is not only counterproductive, but it's probably one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on these pages.
FYI, you might also like to read up on the "Order cancellation policy". It clearly states "A seller can cancel an order if:
The buyer hasn't paid within the time allowed
The buyer used the wrong delivery address at checkout
The item is out of stock (this will result in a transaction defect)".
Nowhere does it say you can cancel an order because the buyer paid or because you prefer cash payment. Neither of these are legitimate reasons for cancelling an order.

·8 months agoAs sandy said, cash on pick up is an option but you can't force it as some customers may pay in advance.
The trouble is, if you are not signed up for managed payments, the buyer's payment would go to ebay and you'd have no way to collect it.

·8 months agoIf you want to sell, you must be signed up to Managed Payments
How do you plan to be able pay the eBay fees owed otherwise?
You already have items listed, without doing so and without being verified to sell, is that correct?
Cash payment on pick up is an option, but you cannot force they buyer to pay cash
For pick up, do you know about the QR code to prove the buyer collected them?
You really need to remove the items and read the selling basics to avoid a lot of issues
