How do I update my seller payments to accepting cash on delivery? Local pick up buyer wants to pay cash.

    I believe you… I believe you!

I was delayed by jumping under the cold shower after getting very hot doing a final bit of mowing and pulling out terrifying weeds.

    It's true, it's true.

Thankfully it's way too hot to pull out nefarious weeds here - though last night we had the biggest thunder and lightening storm I've ever seen in all my years on earth. Estimates of 300,000 strikes !!!!!!

    Now we're surrounded by bushfires............sigh............

Countess, I would have pipped you to the post but the dogs were going berserk outside at someone in the driveway (who'd got the wrong house anyway) - so I had to go out and save the local ER extra work......

    Spoiler (Highlight to read)

What you're talking about is "cash on pickup" not COD, which is perfectly fine.

When they win the auction or agree to the BIN, eBay will send them a pickup code for you to verify them.

Edit. G'day Countess, beat me to it.............

COD is not cash on delivery. Rather, it is an expensive option offered by Australia Post.

What you want instead is cash on pickup, and of course the buyer can just pay you with cash.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/help/shipping-items/selling/updating-shipping-options/shipping-rates?id=4170

Of utmost importance is proof of pickup.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/help/shipping-items/selling/setting-shipping-options/local-pickup?id=4181

    Proof of pickup

Proof of pickup is required to protect you against item not received cases.

For proof of pickup you can:

    • Use the eBay app to scan the QR code the buyer received through email
    • Use the eBay app to manually enter the 6-digit code the buyer received through email

    To scan the QR code:

    1. Go to Selling on the eBay App.
    2. Go to the Sold tab.
    3. Select the Arrange Pickup banner.
    4. Tap the Scan to confirm pickup button.

If the buyer doesn't have their email with the codes, they can also access the code by going to their Purchase history in the eBay app.

    Tip
When you scan or manually enter these codes, the item will immediately be marked as delivered but you'll still need to mark the item as paid if you collect payment at the time of delivery.

If you don't want to use the app, ask the buyer to sign a copy of the eBay order form at the time of pickup.

Careful Countess, you don't want to be accused of giving the wrong information because you're not a seller.............................................
