    Contact buyer before auction end

I want to contact buyer before auction end. eBay says use Advanced Search 'By Bidder' .. But no such option given on the page.

Besides the dodginess of the auction, has anyone actually mentioned that you arent supposed to make contact with bidders (as a seller) before the auction ends,  or have I got that wrong. open to being corrected

yep, I got that wrong,  I thought it was blocked to stop sellers from trying to deal outside of Ebay.

Sorry, but I would be far more concerned about an inexperienced seller, selling a boat

Would you really sell it for $100 if nobody else bids?

You state to photos are not current - they have to be

Have you signed up for Managed Payments? and been verified to sell?

How long before you made your first bid did you open your account?

Honestly, this kind of thing (brand new seller, selling a scammer magnet like a boat)

And then even *hope* the person actually reads the listing

    I know

How many times have we seen things like this

And all we can do is alert the seller involved as to what we have all seen so many times over

    I really can't watch

     I never have,

When we came to Australia I was one of the few who did not suffer from seasickness... despite stuffing myself with all the food I could find... lol

Parents bought a house on the Georges River  & I joined the Sea Scouts so grew up sailing.

Now I skipper a rubber ducky in the bath tub.

...This buyer joined eBay same day and bid twice at the starting price while being sole bidder. Maybe it's a bot??

    It's not a "bot".

You do not know what the bidder's maximum bid is.

The price will not increase until another bidder comes along.

You need to go to "Help" on any eBay page to see how bidding works.

As sandy said what will you do if there are no other bidders & the boat sells for $100?

Considering you can easily spend 50 000 on one of these to get it back in the water I know what I would do.

Thank you... I am aware of the costs involved with sailing craft like this.

Why are you telling me what you would do?

According to the listing it is currently "in the water".

Sorry going by the fact you thought this would end up in tears and what would the OP do then didn't inspire me with confidence. Also if you know about sailing a vessel then saying it is in the water does not mean a lot when it comes to condition.

I'm saying the auction will end in tears.

I mentioned nothing about the condition of the vessel.

I replied to your comment about getting it back in the water.

Seems you know about as much as the worth of a $1 note - as you do about a vessel - listed - ' think I'm going to shout here - ' PHOTOS NOT CURRENT '. lol

You've stated around 50,000 to fix - again lol.

Fix what - none of us has actually seen this vessel - in it's current state.

Geez Louise you come up with some carp.

I would suggest looking at a thread and if you know nothing about the question, then don't say anything.

    Why would you?
