Declining Sales
Summary: jthompson845 expressed concerns over a dramatic 80% drop in sales on eBay, noting that despite promotions and discounts, the situation worsens. goldcoast4212 and davewil1964 also reported sales declines, attributing them to reduced interest, pricing issues, and competition. Others suggested that seasonal changes might lead to a recovery. The discussion also touched on the challenges of competing with lower eBay fees for 'free' sellers, which sportscardstoreau and davewil1964 debated.
Hi everyone,
Over the last weeks since all of the changes and continuous issues on eBay.
Has anyone's sales dropped dramatically?.
I have been selling on eBay now for 16 years and my sales have dropped 80% and seems to be getting worse.
I promote all of my listings, coupons, discounts etc just no sales.
I would appreciate the feedback thank you.

·Sep 14, 2026 at 4:26 AMHard to compete with eBay live fees of 4-6% capped at $100 and only a 4-8% premium on free sellers when we pay around 12%.

·Sep 14, 2026 at 11:23 AM4-8%. Still way less than what we have to add to our prices to cover fees, so they can charge less.

OPSep 14, 2026 at 12:56 PMAs a small business owner which is only myself in a business and I only sell on eBay.
I pay a lot in fees. I have been going over the last 16 years on eBay and I have been loyal
I have been so happy with everything except in the last 8 months or so.
Continuing issues with my account. My time is precious as I work entirely on my own
and I seem to be contacting them often about issues and before I never contacted them.
Fees are way to high for a small business I don't want to go to free selling
as we have more options if you are a business.

Things have been quiet everywhere recently .
I imagine that you have quite a few regular buyers and as the stores are now starting to put out their Christmas stuff, hopefully your sales will start to pick up as we head closer to December

·1 month agoMy sales down. About 20%. I attribute it to my not being conned by promotions, coupons or discounts.

OP1 month agoYes I have lost money as I am promoting off site and everything else.
I am only a small business and I only use eBay as my sole source of income.

·1 month agoSales drops of anything are usually 2 things - 1- lack of interest/demand 2-price barriers on what people are willing to spend. You also face fashion trends which change
