Do I need to repeat my Item title in description?
I sell clothes, and just recently took out the title from my descriptions and just put measurements and bullet point descriptions. I don’t see the point in repeating the title in the description it just makes for more reading to the buyer, but will it affect search results?

·2 years agoNo idea if it affects search results but I would have thought they went on key words and as long as you have them covered somewhere in the title, you should be right.
If you're trying to cut out making more reading for the buyer, you could delete the line about 'Thank you for checking out my item'.
I like the bullet points, they cover the main things a buyer wants to know. Putting some of the title points in the description would not hurt. I know you put the measurements & sizes but sometimes in an ad, it could be helpful to add more detail in certain cases eg if shoes are a certain size, I'd want the ad to mention it if that was an American size.

·2 years agoI always do, its a 1 second cut and paste, and if it helps why not. I cant say if it does help or not as I have never run a survey. But I do as there is no harm.

·2 years agoI tend to always use some of the title in the description (on a different ebay account with handmade items).
This is due to my frustration when buying and trying to negotiate the maze of ebay's promotions and useless suggestions. I think a bold title in the item description could be welcome to other buyers, as it has been to me when buying.
It may take a little more time when listing, but it is a useful way to avoid mistakes. I've contacted several sellers after finding a description or title that doesn't match the photo. So easy to do a sell similar and overlook a change in colour/style etc.

·2 years agoDepends on what you are trying to achieve. I used to do the same until I was shown that it was not needed if you are trying to list an large amount of items in a short amount of time. If selling for profit time is money and if it does not increase the chance of a sale don't do it.
If I am doing a listing for an item I have multiples of I will spend the time and this depends on the quantity and price. If I have a large quantity of an item and expect to sell it for the next few years I will include everything I can think of to avoid issues in the long run with possible returns.

·2 years agoDepends on how long it takes to C&P the title into the description. A few seconds at most. Hardly a drain on precious time.

·2 years agoTrue and depends on your listing goals. Some sellers do a listing every 2 minutes and 100-300 in a day which is where time is critical. I am no where near close to that but do take advice on how to save time by not doing things twice.

·2 years agoSo say they list 300, and it takes 2 seconds to cut and paste, thats an extra 10 minutes. 10 minutes in a 10 hour shift is nothing.
