Double dipping
Hello.
I've recently sold an item on EBay.
Second item I have ever sold so very new at selling.
I have noticed that when looking at fees deducted off sale price etc that Ebay has double dipped with fees.
One set of fees is for actual sale. The other is called Ad fee which is almost the same percentage as initial fees. Approximately all up fees including postage 30%
Wow.
Could someone kindly indicate what is happening?
Really harsh not being able to easily control what is actually happening.
I feel that I've been trapped.

·3 years agoI suspect you have chosen to promote your listing, which attracts an additional fee - selected by you.
Either don't promote you listings (my recommendation) or choose a lower percentage.
Read the FAQs on selling (which you should already have done) for more information.

·3 years agoAs Dave has said, what shows as Ad Fee, is your promotion fee, which applies at the rate you selected when listing, and is applied, in addition to the set final value fee, when the item sells via promotion.
If the item had not sold via promotion, then the Ad Fee would not apply.
So ebay not double dipping, just charging what you agreed to.
