EBay cancelled my sale, but buyer received goods, I didn’t get paid.
Summary: clarksnow01 shares an issue of having their eBay sale canceled, resulting in the buyer receiving the goods while they did not receive any payment. gutterpunkz05 and sugar249 join the discussion to address the problem, though specific solutions or outcomes are not detailed in the conversation.
I sold a Toyota part on EBay in early April for $500.00. The buyer clicked local pickup but was in Melbourne, I’m in Perth 3000km away. The buyer funds had arrived in my account. There was no solution I could find other than cancelling order and buyer re purchases and doesn’t select local pickup. I spoke to EBay about this and after this discussion I asked buyer to pay postage via a PayPal request I created. They paid. I then couriered the goods to the buyer. I added the tracking number details via eBay messenger to the buyer and also clicked on sent tab re delivery on eBay. During the delivery process eBay reversed the payment from account. i contacted eBay and asked what was going on. They said there was a technical fault and a number of customers have had the same problem, but they assured me within 48hrs it would be resolved and I would receive my money back. The buyer then contacted me and said he received a refund and then contacted me again to say he received the goods. I’m now out of pocket $500.00. EBay has stolen this money. I have had a number of other calls with eBay and have received emails from eBay stating that it is a technical fault and it will be resolved and I will receive a full refund. It is now weeks and I contacted eBay today with the case number and they said all my previous chat history is gone. I really believe that eBay staff and covering up for each other and deliberately frustrating my refund, because someone in a back office has made a mistake and they might lose their job. This is so corrupt from a global organisation. They have admitted fault, I have the email and chat proof, but they continue to deny me the payment for goods sent. EBay are so corrupt. Please help in how I can solve this. I’m in the process of finding the directors for EBay Australia on the ASIC website and will lodge a small claim against eBay and their nominated directors for probably 4 times the amount due to the 6hrs i have spent on this and the actual goods that were stolen by eBay and given to a buyer for $0. But I dont want to start this process until I have a response from eBay community on how to resolve this. I’ve been an eBay seller and buyer for 20 years, but have moved to Amazon now until this is resolved. Thanks in advance

·2 years agoNot really a help with your situation. But still unclear why you didnt go with your original option, and cancel the original order and relist with a postage option. You have made it more complicated by bringing in a paypal payment outside of Ebay, which we know is a no no.

·2 years agoNot sure on that one sugar, as I don,t do pickup, but as they could apparently mark as sent, I assume tracking could be added to the order.
Stil trying to figure out if the OP canceled, as appears their original intent, and then contacted CS, before collecting postage outside of ebay.
The OP also seems under the impression that CS are employees of ebay, and is not aware of the standard 48hr reply

·2 years agoEbay has not stolen anything, the payment was refunded to the buyer.
You say you advised the buyer of tracking details, after postage paid via paypal. but did you actually add the tracking to the purchase/sales order, or did you just mark it as sent. Your OP is a bit confusing as to how the transaction was cancelled
If you did not ship the item within your stated handling time and did not enter tracking into the ebay order, then you will be throwing your money away in pursuing any claim against ebay, and might possibly face a counter claim.
Have you considered asking the buyer to repay via paypal

·2 years agoCan you add tracking if the item was a local pickup only? Just a question,
