Have been fighting AI for weeks now
Summary: beadsandcraftwarehouse expressed frustration with a platform where their items, specifically sequins, were mistakenly removed by AI systems leading to a suspension. They highlighted that staff were told not to come in following this issue. twyngwyn mentioned another case where Tupperware was misclassified as single-use plastic but was later reinstated. wholesale-catering-supplies shared a similar experience, noting their store faced repeated restrictions despite these being wrongly applied.
Well here we are. Have been an Ebay member for almost 20 years now having sold close to 800000 items. We have been arguing the fact that hundreds of our items, mainly sequins and beads are not single use plastic items. Meanwhile each day for weeks now items have been removed by AI systems and we have had to plead our case on each item. So as of yesterday because of so called violations (selling plastic sequins and beads which are NOT banned items) our acct has been suspended. Absolute disgrace after dealing with this company for this long.

·1 week ago · EditedWe are going through the same right now & have been for almost 8 months.
Our store has been restricted 3 times now in the last month, all proven to be falsely done. Although our items are clearly pictured & labelled we are having Porcelian, Paper, Cardboard, Glass & many others removed for apparently being Single Use Plastic.

·1 week agoI have also been having this issue. Once an appeal is lodged & the items get relisted by Ebay THEN their AI system steps in again & takes the item down giving another violation all within about an hour of the appeal being approved, & ebay relisting the item. We have had it happen thousands of times now & within the last month they have actually started closing us down for three days at a time for apparently violating the same policy. Our items that we are getting in trouble for are made of paper, cardboard, glass & porcelain just to name a few. Our store was closed down yesterday in fact at 1pm, appeal was approved last night at 9pm, item was relisted by ebay at 9pm, we received a violation on the very same item at 2am & our store was closed at 11am for another three days. This is a cycle that has been going for us for approx 7-8 months now. Ebay knows all about as I have a staff member that I now pay just to deal with all this. They don't know how to fix the problem, they are only doing it to a very small number of sellers & it is destroying successful businesses. As far as I am concerned there are definitely targeted attacks, they are not happening to everyone.
Hopefully I have explained that so it makes sense.
