    How is this even possible?

Summary: The discussion started with amgdr1ver raising a question or expressing astonishment with the subject "How is this even possible?" However, all subsequent responses from e_purchasing, sandypebbles, *casey*, and shoppingbag* contain no content or apparent replies. The discussion lacks substantive engagement and provides no additional context or answers to the initial query.

There's a model car listed for GBP 9,999 (AU$18,500). It was sold a few years ago for $12 in stores. The listing is item number 257298334627 if anyone is interested.

It says 2 have been sold already. I don't get it. Did someone actually pay $18K for a toy car? There are other listings for the same car that are around $900-$950 (which is more realistic, prices have gone up as this car was only available in limited quantities and is considered a 'chase').

    Thanks in advance.

Sellers often up the price to a very high  unrealistic price (9999.99  is a very common figure)  when they're out  of stock, to keep their place in a search ranking, which is what I believe has happened here.

"It says 2 have been sold already. I don't get it. Did someone actually pay $18K for a toy car? "

    NO

The original  multiple item  listing under that item  number was for a plush toy which sold for  sold for  GBP  93.49

The seller then revised the listing into a completely different item, the model car,  and  one sold for GBP  579. 99

Maybe the listing you speak of was being 'held' for a buyer, so the seller put some outlandish price on it so nobody else bought it?

Last sale of theirs was March 26 for GBP 579.99

Obviously they don't want to sell it but if someone wants to buy it, they will take GBP $10K

I don't know how legit it is but 397843087969 will cost you under $300
