I sold an item to a buyer who has received it but how do we get tracking to say its received.
Summary: The discussion centers around a situation where 239apple sold an item, and the buyer has received it. However, 239apple is seeking advice on how to update the tracking information to reflect that the item has been received.
Hi there , i sold some jewellery from me ( seller) in Australia , to a buyer in the USA. Due to tariff issues, the package selected on ebay ( Australia Post International) could not be delivered..
So i sent the package domestically to the buyers sister living in Australia.
The buyer has acknowledged in seller feedback that they have received the package.
Now i cannot be paid as the ebay system says the package is not delivered ./
I need to understand if there is a human in ebay that i can talk to/email to get this overridden , or what process is possible to release the funds . The pre programmed help pages and articles do not cover this situation at all, and the auto assistant despite me saying i was the seller kept thinking i was the buyer..

·5 months agoYou have to send the package to the address listed with eBay, if you made some other arrangement to send to someone else then you have a problem if this was just agreed via messaging. Did the buyer's sister leave you feedback on ebay or just message you that they received it? Is the buyer's sister even registered as a buyer on eBay or was this all a private agreement? It would be easier not to sell to the USA.

OP5 months agothanks , wasnt aware of the issue until Australia Post said they couldnt deliver to that address after the sale. They buyers sister received it and the US buyer has acknowledged via feedback that it is received.

·5 months agoYou must post to the address given by the buyer when the buyer checked out
All the other stuff does not come into it
That is the policy/rule, no if and's or buts as far as eBay are concerned
They would (correctly) advise you that you should have cancelled with the sale with the reason 'problem with buyer's address'
You could have then made the appropriate arrangements to send it to the sister, be that the sister using theie account to buy, or the buyer adding the sister's address at checkout instead

·5 months agoWhat does it show in the Payments tab in your Seller Hub ?
At the moment, eBay's making a lot of changes in regards to transaction holds.
Read up on "An occasional seller" and "Qualifying to get your funds sooner" in this link

As the buyer's left you feedback, you can try contacting eBay Help to see if they'll release your funds earlier.
To talk to eBay Help (not a bot) click on Contact Us at the bottom of the page my link and you'll see the automated assistant at the right of the page.

OP5 months agoThankyou Casey and others .
Ok i finally spoke to a real person as you are stuck in an auto loop for help topics that assume you are within the rules of their workflow.
For posterity and others that follow ( im sure this has happened multiple times)
1. Listed a ring on ebay and selected Australia Post Domestic and Australia Post International parcels for shipping costs to be available for the buyer to understand prior to purchase.
2. Ring sells in the USA , but i cannot send as Australia Post has stopped sending these type of items to the USA due to tariff issues .
3. Now im stuck , no method of fulfilment in the automated system and a financial penalty if sale is cancelled.
4. Buyer says she has a sister in Australia , so post it to her .
5. Sent to buyer by Australia Post domestic . I enter AP tracking number into EBAY
6. eBays tracking assumes that package is going to original address in the USA and assigns the AP tracking number as a USPS tracking number
7. As USPS tracking number doesnt exist, tracking never gets updated
8. Buyer receives the package in Australia and via seller feedback confirms package received
9. Had to get escalated up help desk in ebay, and offered them to check the AP tracking site showing receipt , ( or screenshot) AND the fact that the buyer confirmed in eBay that they had received the package..
10. After several attempts to convince help desk ( initially oh you just need to update tracking number , i finally convinced them that their system was allocating the tracking number to the wrong postal service.
11. finally funds are being released ..
Thanks for the heads up on how to finally get to a real person to achieve a resolution....

That's great news and everything else is after the fact but just a few things to mention for the future:
"For posterity and others that follow ( im sure this has happened multiple times) "
Posting to a different address voids all seller protection in the case of an item not received.
You could have lost your item and your money.
" Ring sells in the USA"
With so many scammers around these days, posting anything of high value to overseas (and even domestic) these days is not advised.
All an overseas scammer has to do is open an 'item not as described' claim with eBay and again, you'll lose your item and your money.
"a financial penalty if sale is cancelled"
If you cancel a sale using the reason "problem with buyer's address", your final value fee will be refunded to you.
Once again, great to hear it's been resolved with eBay releasing the funds.
