Is it possible for Ebay's Management to seriously review the shipping costs they quote on most of their items purchased from U.S.A. and U.K. to overseas purchasers? I live in New Zealand and the shipping is totally out of this world through extremly high prices charged. Sellers and buyers in both countries are probably totally unaware of how much it cost us living outside their countries. I would like to hear from them as well as other buyers who think the same as I do. Thank you.

·6 months agoI completely agree. eBay seems to add a significant markup to “eBay International Shipping” while reducing the overall service level — essentially charging more for less, which regulators typically frown upon. In Australia, we have the ACCC, which investigates price gouging and companies that blatantly take advantage of consumers. I’ve referred eBay International Shipping to them and included several recent examples (usd $46 for just 19 basketball cards, with delivery taking almost 6 weeks - clearly charging DHL fees but providing surface mail service). If New Zealand has a similar consumer protection body, I’d encourage you to do the same. eBay consistently looks for ways to squeeze extra money from both buyers and sellers, and some of its practices definitely cross the line. The more people that complain, the greater the likelihood that eBay will be brought into line.

OP8 months agoI don't know what the rules and regulations are as far as sellers using Ebay's shipping system but it appears now most of the sellers who deal with items I am interested in use this system. It's not fair at all on overseas purchasers. Often we are charged far money in freight than the item purchased. I'm sure, no matter what, Ebay Management are not going to take any notice of complaints by buyers from overseas. All they are interested in is profit.

·8 months agoYou would need to contact eBay management
Base level staff rarely read here, management certainly don't
Bare in mind eBay do not take requests though
