item has been sold, paid for and posted.
Hi there, I have recently sold an item on Facebook. It was paid for on the 26/2/2025 by the buyer. The item was posted to the buyer on the 28/2/2025. Payment has not shown up yet as it is still stating that funds are on hold. Today is the 4/3/2025. Is this amount of time for funds to show up in ones account normal?

You cannot ask the buyer to pay you directly into your bank (aka 'outside eBay')
If you want to sell, you have to sign up for Managed Payments
It is not a way to avoid paying selling fees you owe and gives you no protection
You can also not state 'no refunds'
That only applies to change of mind returns
If a buyer opens a not as described dispute, or an item not received dispute(if you cannot prove with tracking the item was sent to the address given), you don't get a choice
After you having to pay appropriate postage and eBay fees, there will be very little of the $10 for the item going to you

·1 year agoIf it's the watch you sold, the fact that you put this on your listing
"Direct deposit method of payment is prefered. Please message for bank details if unable to access"
indicates you may not have signed up for managed payments

·1 year agoI don't follow
You say you sold it on Facebook
So a) how can the funds be on hold with eBay
OR
Did the buyer tell you 'they paid via eBay' for the Facebook sale
(if so, that is a scam)
OR
Did you mean eBay rather than Facebook?
And if so, did you fully sign up to Managed Payments and be verified to sell before listing?
If so, as a new seller, (or new in eBay's eyes since you have no feedback as a seller recently) your funds will be on hold for 30 days, as you agreed to when you listed, and yes, that really does apply
Did you upload tracking to the item?
Even with tracking and getting positive feedback (which you haven't) your funds will still be on hold
As they will be for the current items you have listed
