Item lost at drop off location and ebay support just close the case
Summary: bosch_fan shared a frustrating experience with eBay, where a buyer claimed not to have received an item despite tracking showing it was dropped off. eBay refunded the buyer, leaving bosch_fan without compensation and dissatisfied with customer service responses. e_purchasing asked for clarification in their post, while lezned-toycollector advised on maintaining a polite approach with customer service. sandypebbles and *casey* offered guidance on escalating the issue, using seller protection, and contacting eBay staff via social media. bosch_fan expressed frustration over poor customer service and lack of response from eBay supervisors.
My item was dropped off back in August and buyer contacted saying not received. The tracking shows drop off date and time clearly. Tracking shows two attempts pickup says item not there.
Buyer raised 'item not found' request, ebay refunded the buyer, leaving me (the seller) lost item, lost money!
I printed the label directly through eBay, paid them the postage on top of their fees.
the tracking details on the eBay Seller Hub show that the parcel was successfully scanned into the HUBBED location:
Mon 17 Aug 12:38pm Parcel dropped off at Hubbed location MOUNT WAVERLEY, VIC 3149
google search says:
eBay provides seller protections in my situation.
I contacted ebay support and demands ebay to initiate an insurance and compensation claim to the HUBBED location.
this is their reply and close the chat without consent, so rude !
I've provided you with all the available information regarding this situation. I'm afraid I have provided as much assistance with this issue as I can. I hope that I've explained the policy clearly. All members are asked to comply with the outlined procedure. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer you any further assistance with this matter as we have to work according to policies.
At the end, it says: I'll email you a copy of this conversation shortly. Of course that does not happen neither, so very poor service.
This reminds me the discontinued business menulog !
I'll move all listings to somewhere else!

You'd generally be covered by Seller Protection if you purchased an eBay label and it's been scanned at least once.
Which postage option did the buyer select when completing checkout ?
Was it the new eBay Delivery Network ?
as you mentioned that you dropped off the parcel and we've already seen what happened to one seller with a $500 item using the new eBay Delivery Network !
When the buyer opened an 'item not received' case, did you respond to the case within 3 business days , entering the tracking number ?
Have you appealed the decision ?
The most experienced eBay staff can be contacted on Instagram.
You'll need to send them a private message
(Sorry, my post will be 'pending approval' for hours if I add the Instagram link)

Demanding anything from a CS agent who is pretty much unqualified on all levels of anything eBay related will only ever generate such a response - as you are now fully aware.
Members always receive a copy of every eBay online chat via email. This is a completely automated process. It will always be sent to the verified email address associated with your account. The only reason you wouldn't receive said email, is if your email address is not up to date - which is entirely on you.
There's really no need to tell the other members who read here that you're going elsewhere. TBH, the vast majority couldn't care less... but good luck with whatever you choose to do.

·3 weeks agoFirst of all, edit your post , particularly the first paragraph so that it makes sense.
What is confusing between seller - who sells an item and buyer who buys an item?
bosch_fan
OP3 weeks agothank you for the feedback, my bad not double check, not sure how can I edit the original, it happens like this:
