Logistic question
Hi everyone, I'm an eBay seller shipping only within Australia. My items sell for $20–100 and weigh up to 20kg. My current postage costs are too high, so I'm looking for a more affordable domestic courier that's reliable. Does anyone have real‑world recommendations for a cost‑effective service in this weight range? I'd really appreciate any advice from fellow local sellers. Thanks!

·2 weeks agoI think you'll find the one you're using (Australia Post) ticks all of the boxes you are seeking. Some couriers may be cheaper from capital city to capital city but won't deliver to remote postcodes. If they do, it may more expensive and/or take longer. You will probably end up using Australia Post anyway for these sales (and then need to upload tracking to two or more systems).
I can't comment on couriers' reliability as I don't use them. however I have read enough horror stories on these boards over the years to convince me to just stick with Australia Post (even though they are far from perfect).
Australia Post delivers to every suburb with the largest infrastructure already in place. It would not make sense that someone could undercut/outperform them.
As sellers we are all in the same boat as parcel prices rise. Buyers will get used to paying the higher prices (as they have with every price rise).

OP2 weeks agoI'd like to divert items over 5kg to other courier companies, while using Australia Post for items under 5kg. This might help reduce my costs a bit. Of course, for remote areas, Australia Post is still a good option. What do you think?
