eBay roll out new features to selected sellers to gauge response.Ā Beta testing.Ā Ā Same here.
Ā
"Thank you for sending your order and uploading the tracking details.Ā Provided the buyer does not have an issue with the order, you may expect funds to be released on 13 Nov." (Delivered 10-10).
Ā
Back to the future with an Escrow platform which will earn them more income.Ā Important to push back on this. As small and micro businesses we are getting punished and abused for no reason.
Ā
Appears they are copying many 'features' on Chinese ecommerce platforms.Ā 30 day escrow common there, but the other 'feature' is the deposit sellers have to lodge with the platform to open a store.Ā Money for jam.
Ā
Time to petition the 'Gubment' and ACCC ?Ā Long overdue for an enquiry into eBay practices... throw in Australia Post too.
I went here and clicked the Feedback tab - right hand side of page. This seems the only place I could vent my complaint. The Ai will probably swallow it and file it in 'Belligerent Seller' folder never to be read by human being.
The note on the order page says, "Your funds will be available within 3 days of order delivery after we confirm that the buyer has no issues with the order upon receipt."
Ā
The question in my head is : Does (will) eBay demand a buyer responds to their request for confirmation an item has arrived AND the buyer has no issues with it.Ā And if a buyer ignores eBay, how long until eBay decides it's a default 'delivery ok' situation.Ā Even then, what if the buyer uses PayPal and exercises their money back guarantee down the track.
Ā
It's next level BS.Ā eBay pandering to the buyer but washing their hands with the sellers money.
Ā
The Gov/ACCC are still stuck in the 90s when it comes to ecommerce.
Apologies for digging this thread up, but I thought I'd give a final update.

I had no other sales during this time as I pulled the lot so I could observe what eBay does.Ā It wasn't a big amount so I didn't mind watching.
Ā
With all this fluff about A.I., one would think it could interpret that positive feedback as confirmation of delivery and condition.Ā But no.Ā Clearly it's not used for payout determination.Ā One would also think a positive feedback on an item is a general identifier of a positive transaction.Ā But no.
Ā
Following on with my previous post, I wonder how eBay confirmed the buyer had no issue with the order.
That's my inbox at that time.Ā Literally 2 min between the notification and sale.Ā Blew my mind.
Ā
The memory sticks have always been sent using a BX15 AusPost rigid mailer.Ā Untracked.Ā Never a problem and my feedback says it all.
Ā
But now, I'm expecting a DOA on this one.Ā It's 05:02 11/10/2025 and it's already packed and sent.Ā Barely 12 hours later.Ā Packing and sending is always videoed.Ā Buyer notified and snapshots from video sent too.Ā Feedback left.Ā Marked as sent.Ā Now I wait.
Ā
I just ended all my listings because of this confirmation thing.Ā Do I need to send everything with tracking now.Ā That'll jack the price up.Ā Memory sticks are already generally worthless.
Ā
Just asked the system when it expects to release the funds.Ā It says,Ā OC3819.Ā What the hell is that.Ā lolĀ Ā The eBay help for the new feature says 30 days from order date for untracked items.
Your funds will be available for payout once we receive delivery confirmation
Hi Xxxxxx,
We are making changes to the way we process payments on eBay. Going forward, weāll make your funds available for payout within 72 hours after weāve confirmed delivery of the item. Until then, youāll see a āholdā on your funds. This process helps keep our marketplace safe.
If you have any questions or concerns, just get in touch. Thanks for being part of the eBay community.

A 30 day hold for payments is bad enough for newbies or those who havenāt sold in awhile but now not releasing funds until delivery is confirmed, how carp is that. What I donāt get is that eBay have a sellerās bank account details so if a sale goes belly up, they have the power to deduct from oneās bank account if necessary!
Ā
Wait a sec, eBay, why not make it 90 days, because you can!

"Dear eBay"
Ā
"We will close both our selling accounts if eBay introduce 30 day ESCROW holds on our payments.
Small and micro sellers rely on cash flow and eBay is screwing with sellers for no reason apart from profit generation.
We have put up with so many restrictions to date, this one is the final straw.
It is happening in USA and rolling out here. This is unfair business practice and warrants Government scrutiny.
Sellers are angry.
My guess is this feedback will get swallowed by the Ai assistant and go no where, which is the norm for eBay these days."

Ā·1 year agoMaybe the issue is you using a foreign email server. Which might trigger eBay to assume you are not actually in Australia.

Ā·11 months agoI like the logic but an email server location is irrelevant, as are email addresses.

Every detail on the account, including payout account, is based in Australia.
