People who continually bid but don't pay
I've just had a bidder who didn't end up paying. When I looked at their feedback, there were at least 7 negative reviews for the same reason, but all were listed as positive feedback as there mustn't be anywhere to note negative feedback if they don't pay. I know you can cancel an order and note non payment as the reason but it seems they are getting away with it a lot. Any suggestions?

·1 year agoYou cannot leave neg feedback for a buyer, eBay has only allowed positive feedback for donkey’s years now
You can thank the sellers who happily rewarded this time waster with big green ticks, now this person knows they can buy up big, never pay and get green ticks galore to boost their feedback score
Not only that, but they have all breeched eBay policy and they will have their accounts pinged if eBay or eBay bots pick it up, or the fake buyer reports it
So the suggestion would be, since you have reported the non payment, to add them to you blocked list

·1 year agoIf the previous sellers didn’t cancel the sale with the reason “buyer didn’t pay” (which only appears as an option after 4 days of non-payment), the “buyer” would not have been given an NPB strike. It’s at least possible that the previous sellers didn’t do this - if they were foolish enough to leave feedback for the buyer.
As you say, buyers can’t be given negative feedback. Giving a positive with negative comment is not only against eBay policy (and renders the seller open to sanctions), it’s also useless and pointless, since no one else can see the buyer’s username; it’s masked except to the seller and the buyer.
At any rate, as you mention that your NPBs have clearly not paid for their purchases before, it seems you’ve not set up your buyer requirements to block buyers with 2 or more NPB strikes over 12 months.

·1 year agoIn my Buyer requirements activity log I will have the same buyers making literally dozens of attempts to bid on my items. I am not sure what part of "you cannot bid because you have too many unpaid items strikes" they do not understand. It is a shame more sellers do not cancel with the reason "buyer did not pay" which automatically awards a strike; it is also a shame more sellers do not set up their buyer requirements to prevent buyers with 2 or more NBP strikes in the course of the last 12 months from buying their items.
