Pre-bought AP padded mailers
Summary: The discussion revolves around the topic of pre-bought AP padded mailers, but the content of the conversation is unspecified.
Hi - with the new rulings, I've been told by an agent I will be unable to use pre-bought AP mailers. Am wondering if I turned them inside out and then attached the mandatory Ebay label to this, would that be acceptable ? I realise I'll need to measure each item now which will be a pain but can't see any other option. TIA

·5 months agoI think you are confusing padded mailers with pre-paid postage items.
A mailer is a mailer, an envelope, and you can use eBay labels on them and you don't have to turn them inside out.
A pre-paid mailer is the same type of envelope but with postage paid already and will have the word "PREPAID" printed on it

·5 months agoIt's simple really - as Dave mentioned - just sign up for the Pro Starter - nothing changes - same fees you've been paying etc- your satchels get sent the way you always have - pre-paid or not.

OP5 months agoThanks Domino - as said previously, I obviously need to re-read all the info and weight it all up.

Sign up to Pro Starter when it becomes available.
Nothing will change from what happens now.

OP5 months agoI'm only small time Dave, not worth it, besides I wouldn't qualify.

OP5 months agoThanks Dave. I have to admit I'm a bit bamboozled right now. I need to re-read all the info as obviously it hasn't sunk in. Appreciate your help.

·5 months agoIt's disgraceful that sellers weren't pre-warned about this weeks ago, so as to avoid making any new purchases of pre-paid mailers.
Thankfully, I only use their prepaid large letter envelopes. And have been running them down too.

·5 months agoYou will be unable to use prepaid. Anything else you should be able to stick a label on….

·5 months agoAre yours prepaid or not? Do they include postage?

OP5 months agoNo, they don't include postage. They're just the padded mailers from AP.

OP5 months agoThanks for the reply Sandy. I've read the info they sent, basically as a non-pro seller I have until June 1st to use my mailers ( unless i am selling postcards, jewellery, swap cards etc and will fit inside an envelope )...the majority of my items are books though and unfortunately i have a few boxes of pre-bought mailers...

·5 months agoJust a thought - a while back the guy at my local post office said he'd buy back any unused satchels if I didn't need them. May have just been a one time thing for that guy, but could be worth asking your post office.

·5 months agoI'll bet they wouldn't do it at mine!

OP5 months agoGood idea, I'll give it a shot, fingers crossed. I have 3 large boxes of the mailers so will be caught with the lot otherwise. As Pnc55 said, it is disgraceful. They obviously had this in the pipeworks for some time yet gave small time sellers like myself just a few weeks notice. Very poor form indeed !
