Purchased Sendle postage label but personally delivered item to buyer
Summary: A participant posted about purchasing a Sendle postage label but ended up personally delivering the item to the buyer. Another participant responded, but their comments were not expanded in the discussion.
A bit of an odd situation ...
Without realising my buyer was in a nearby suburb which I pass through regularly I purchased a Sendle postage label.
But I did not use it ... when I saw where my buyer liked I offered to drop the item off and he was happy for me to do so and keep the postage.
So ... the buyer has left positive feedback - but there is no way for either him or me to show the item has been delivered (a bygone function).
My account shows I am due to pay the postage to eBay ... but eBay Help says "If you printed a [Sendle] drop-off label but you're not going to use it, you don't need to cancel it. Sendle labels are only charged when the carrier scans the package."
So it seems I'm going to be charged for postage I never used.
I tried the automated help ... to no avail.
Anyone else been in tis situation?

·1 year agoFrom what you've written, you will only be charged the eBay fees on the postage, not the postage itself.
Always pays to pay attention to detail before generating labels.
