Is anyone else finding this change a problem? I can no longer accept multiple offers and then provide the buyer with a combined postage cost. This means I have to refund the buyer for the overpayment of postage. The other alternative, if the buyer communicates with me, is to create a special listing for them with multiple items. However, this means I have to end the items I am including in the special listing, which brings my stats down. I have tried recently to buy some cookbooks for myself from a seller offering a 30% discount, but to be honest having to buy each one seperately for 14 books is a hassle and I may not go ahead. I am concerned that I am not the only customer who will have the same issue. I expect that I will be losing sales because of this. eBay reason for the change is that it stops buyers accepting offers and then not paying!!!! This does nothing to resolve the issue with buyers paying full price and not paying which, in my experience, is far more likely. It also remove the opportunity for me to encourage a buyer by offering great postage deals.

OP4 months agoIt seems that there has been some movement regarding invoicing. I was able to invoice a buyer after accepting there offer. I was also able to buy several items from a seller and request a total prior to paying. HURRAH!

·4 months agoHi there, I am finding purchasing multiple items for my buyers hard too.
The only thing I can suggest is down the bottom where it says feedback, keep sending this when it pops up (I think they limit the amount you can send each day). So far some of the suggestions I have made have actually been implemented eg I copy and paste my info in my description when I am listing (I use my app to list while I am watching TV so don't use the laptop all the time) and when I had made an offer the description listing was locked so I couldn't copy. Also the postage was locked. I asked for both and they have been changed.
All you can do is keep reequesting. Good luck as I keep asking ebay to make multiple purchases easier myself like other sites, its obviously easy to do and will result in Ebay getting more sales. Jodie Here at Jodstas

OP4 months agoThanks Jodie, That is a great suggestion. I will keep at it. I have also experienced changes made following suggestions I have made around the item specifics so I know they can be proactive.

·4 months agoI have had this problem for months, constantly sending in complaints, nothing gets done, I'm sick of it, my customers are sick of it. Now this new setup they have is totally confusing all round, try cancelling an order, you have to do each bit of it seperately.

·4 months agoIs it the same issue as you asked about last month?
Did you read the reply?
alicesinstylecollectables
OP4 months agoYes, I did read the reply. I believe that this new policy on eBay's part will result in lost sales. Also there is nothing to stop sellers keeping the extra postage paid even if they package items together. eBay is relying on sellers to do the right thing.

·4 months agoIf you don’t refund excess postage and the buyer is savvy, they will hit you with ‘dings’ to your postage….stupidly, for your metrics you’re better off sending separately……eBay has not thought this through….or they have and paying separately guarantees more to their coffers

OP4 months agoIf I don't get some response from eBay in the meantime, I will be raising this at the July F2F in Sydney. I am not content to accept a policy that will lose me sales. I have been on this platform for 28 years and this is the first time they have made a change that will be a detriment to my income.

·4 months agoHow and when did you contact eBay?
alicesinstylecollectables
OP4 months agoI have tried 4 times to reach a supervisor or someone in management via the help centre call system. I have left feedback each time on those calls reiterating my opinion and the customer service agents I spoke to say they have passed on my complaint to the relevant people????? I am not aware of any other way to contact eBay Australia directly.

·4 months agoThat's about all you can do is ask for a supervisor
The base level cs will just 'read/type' from their pre-written script saying thank you for being a member for xx amount of years and they will escalate it within 24-48 hours
Just asking as a lot of people think eBay staff read here, or that emailing eBay will reach a human

·4 months agoGood luck with trying to change their policies (sincerely)
28 years and this is the first time?
You’ve been very lucky!
alicesinstylecollectables
OP4 months agoNot lucky. I have understood the economics of changes made and worked with them to my advantage.

·4 months agoThis is one of the reasons I run auctions…..easy to combine postage….don’t need to do ‘offers’ because I start at what I’m willing to accept.
I’m sure a seller like you, will be along shortly to offer assistance
