    Sales dropping April-June 2024

Summary: The discussion focuses on the topic of declining sales from April to June 2024. aussiejunkanddisorderly raises the concern, and other participants like daydreams_12, davewil1964, and domino-710 respond, though their specific contributions are not detailed in the provided content. It seems the discussion may have included shared observations or strategies to address the sales decline, but exact details are not available. There is a continued engagement from various contributors without a clear resolution mentioned.

    Hi Sellers!

I was wondering if anyone in Australia has seen their eBay sales drop from around the start of April to now (end of June) and has anyone experienced a pattern at these times in previous years?

I’ve been selling for between 3-4 years and my items took off fairly well and I was able to maintain steady sales within around $500 of my highest totals.  As of April this year, my sales have dropped almost $1500 and don't look to be picking up again.

Has anyone else had the same sales drop this last few months?  I’m really starting to worry that they won’t pick up again.  I’m still getting a lot of my regular customers buying and I’m following eBays rules/algorithm  to get my listings seen, which I have checked, and they are showing up.

Thanks so much for any helpful comments/suggestions.

    Cheers, Rach.

Simply put - your items are not necessities - can't even think why anyone would purchase a greeting card - online.

To say nothing of stickers - available at the local $2 store.

Actually, you would be surprised! A lot of people buy my cards and have me write on them to send directly to their loved ones. I have a lot of disabled, elderly & overseas customers, as well as people in prison who cant buy cards at the local shop. Not to mention the amount of people that cant be bothered going out. May not be a necessity to you, but they are to others.

Hi, as I've posted screenprints of I can't even find listings on ebay properly any more let alone find the nick nacks and things that used to be easy to see. Don't know what's going on at ebay but they've made their interface with the buyer just shockingly bad and I'm even having trouble finding sellers I've dealt with in the past. And if it's something to do with different operating systems or devices or whatever then ebay should have tech support doing something about it but they don't. I'm at the stage of rustling up as many emails of ebay contacts and people as I can and sending them an image of what I see when I look for products now. Search results produce a page of listings that each have one vague picture, with a couple of words and a price and that's it. No seller information, no location information, no idea what country it's in, no feedback, nothing.

I hate to state the obvious but you do realise many, many people are having trouble paying rent and buying food.

Hi Daydreams, Yes I do realise that, as I am one of them. I was making ends meet before and now I can’t get my rent paid this month. Although I’m not sure what this has to do with the question I asked? If you’re assuming I sell a lot because I said my sales have dropped by around $1500, you do realise thats $16 a day over the 90 day period, right? And thats without deducting postage and replacement item. Even if my sales were up around $5000 for the 90 day period thats only $388 a week, not including postage and replacing the purchased item, which leaves me with about $210 a week. Definitely not enough to live on. Again, not sure what it has to do with my question but thanks for your response anyway. ✌️
