Scam buyers

I keep getting Scam buyers who purchase your item …. They do not pay buy send a message wanting to connect on what’s App or email … obviously trying to get your personal details…. I just realist item for sale

In addition to the excellent advice already given in this thread, make sure that you have your buyer blocks in place. See this thread: https://community.ebay.com.au/t5/Selling/Changes-to-Buyer-Requirements-you-can-no-longer-block-sellers/m-p/2170404#M172971

You might want to think about listing with immediate payment required. That will cut out a lot of the scammers trying it on.

I think the links in your link are outdated. The current link to set blocks is

This link also gives you access to the blocked buyer page and buyer exemption.

It's nice to see they've removed the block for buyers with below 0 feedback. Completely pointless that one was!

I hope you also cancel the sale, using the reason problem with buyers address

You will be charged fees on all sales as eBay consider it 'sold' even if it is a scam buyer who does not pay

Have you also reported the buyers doing it?

They are unlikely to stop if they think you are letting them off scot free

Personally, I'd be using the buyer didn't pay option when cancelling. That way the buyer gets the well deserved strike. Then they can't try and scam sellers with blocks in place.

Personally, I thought your answer was great, really informative for this seller. It is only the red part that maybe needed a slight edit. So I did it.😁

Kuschy, I haven't heard of many buyers doing that after paying, although I know some customers make low ball offers etc

If they are buying and then wanting to connect some other way rather than pay on ebay, you can bet it isn't because they intend to pay the ebay price. They want to beat you down. I am wondering if it is because you haven't built up a lot of feedback yet so they are hoping they can get away with it.

Sandy pebbles is right. If you let it go scot free, they will possibly continue to do it.

Report as unpaid item, give them a strike, block them and move on. As you become a more established seller, I think you may see less of this as they will realise you know your way around ebay.
