Shipping costs Help
Can anyone help me re postage. I am new and a senior. I just sold an item of approx 350gram which according to Aus post will cost approximately $18 including a padded bag. It listed $8.26 that the buyer will buy in the costs but it’s way off. Can I do anything?

I see you have been a member of ebay since about 2016. I used to sell on ebay way back in the early 2000 years.
It is way more complicated now to set up as a seller, as the others outlined.
If you want to sell, make sure you're set up properly first and I'd advise only selling cheap items first and I'd exclude countries other than Australia.
I never got to see the items you had listed but it sounds as if they were all expensive, as in thousands of dollars. Unfortunately, ebay isn't what it used to be. Some changes have made it safer for buyers but even then, buyers need to exercise caution. And it can be a minefield for sellers of expensive items. In fact, I would not ever buy or sell expensive things on ebay now, too many scammers.
You may be better off finding a dedicated auction house for those items. It might not be cheap to sell with them but at least you'll get your money that way.

OP3 weeks agoI cancelled everything and won’t be selling on this platform. I thank you ALL for helping me. To be honest, it just ‘felt’ wrong. So thankfully when I reached out to check, people were so kind!! Again thank you!

Especially as a brand new seller
Your age does not come into it
As you are on 'free selling' you are obligated to use eBay labels for postage
You must also be verified with both your bank and your ID for Managed Payments, in order to be paid
I would really strongly suggest you end the current listings you have until you make sure you are aware of selling basics
You cannot ask the buyer for more postage than what the listing said, but you can cancel the sale
Honesty, that watch is also going to be a scammer magnet

Plus you can easily be scammed after sending by scammer buyers
I am not going to post how here on a public board and give new scammers 'tips'
But if you choose to sell high priced items as a new seller, with no idea how selling works, there is a very real chance scammer low life buyers will very much take full advantage of those things

The buyer will only need to pay what's shown on the listing.
You're Free Selling and you MUST buy an eBay shipping label, with extra insurance/ signature on delivery etc
Are you registered to sell, verified with both your personal and banking details, signed up for managed payments ?

If you're not registered to sell, you won't receive any payments.
Managed payments means that the buyer pays eBay and eBay pays you.
Even if you were registered to sell, because the watch is a high priced item, eBay will hold your payment for up to 31 days but you'll still be expected to post the watch within your handling time.
Registering to sell isn't always straightforward.
My suggestion would be to apologise to the buyer and cancel the order.
And end all your other listings.
Go to eBay Help at the top of the page and on the left you'll see a
"How can we help you today " search box.
Type in 'Registering as a seller' and that will give you all the information , all the verification requirements needed to sell your items and receive payment.
I wouldn't advise you to relist the $4900 ring or anything of value.
All a scammer has to do is file an' item not as described' claim, send you back a cheap imitation and you'll lose your item and the money.
