So sick of buyers sending offers I agree to then either don't pay or ask to cancel order

Getting so frustrated lately with this. I send so many offers out, most come back with counter offers for even cheaper which I almost always accept and then people don't pay, or wait hours/day later to cancel saying it was a mistake.

Anyone else going through this ?

I have Make an Offer attached to most of my BIN listings, and also send out offers twice a year to those watching. I sell unique vintage items, so I just make up my prices in the first place and if they don't sell at auction, they go into my store. Mostly people can't find another one, so when I send an offer - usually 15-20% off, I get a good response. You have the option on the offer message - Allow Counter Offers. Well, DON'T. It is the same if people send me an offer through my regular listing - I send a price, saying it is the lowest I will accept.   If people counter-offer, I just say sorry, that is the lowest I will accept.

As Springy says, if you are consistently lowering your prices, they will continue to wonder what you would have accepted. So may be reluctant to pay, thinking they could have got it from you for less. I hope you are blocking all these time wasters after reporting them as non-payers.

I don't sell so it isn't happening to me, but as a buyer, I sometimes get offers.

My approach is if the offer is attractive and it is something I want, I buy on the spot and pay.

Usually offers are about 5-10% off, with 10% off being less common.

If someone is watching your item, gets an offer and then still doesn't buy it but sends an even lower counter offer, maybe consider not accepting it. I would question how much they really want it. A serious buyer would either have sent an offer prior or would be inclined to snap it up when you send through the offer.

You're getting tyre kickers who are not that interested in the first place. And maybe wondering if they have bid too much if you're willing to keep coming down. Stick to your offer.
