Thanks for your reply, countessalmirena. I have revisited my posts and can't find an instance where I accidentally wrote "possibly possible". My other correspondent was the one who wrote "probably possible", hence my quotation from Google AI. I plead guilty to taking the easy option of using AI because I didn't want to spend time consulting Fowler's English Usage and other sources. As for your being pedantic, when it comes to corruption of the English language I am proud to be a pedant.

They've also moved ISBN to the bottom of the list.

I no longer use them as eBay's catalogue kept coming up with UK book sizing, not Australian ones.

I feel a little like an isolated miniaturised stranger in a silicone chip… but I can’t be the only one to deplore AI and castigate the use of it a mental crutch that turns human intellect to badly cooked porridge! There are excellent resources for checking words, grammar, pronunciation, usage, etc. I would beg people to use those resources (which don’t negate the use of thought) in lieu of reading, using, quoting or relying on AI, including Google AI.

michael_cullis, you may have inadvertently typed in “possibly possible” (loc. cit.) which of course is draped with redundancy like seeping seaweed upon Ophelia post-mortem. “Probably possible” isn’t the same thing.

Re the changed box in Item Specifics, as it seems such a senseless change I don’t think any forum member would know why it’s been done. For all I know, it could be that an employee in eBay’s IT department got thoroughly drunk one evening, sneaked back into the tech department, accidentally changed a bit of coding, uploaded it, and giggled his way into a coma.

I wish I had an answer as to moving the UPC input box back to where it was readily accessible. Perhaps there were complaints about some sellers using UPC to automatically populate their listings off another seller’s laboriously gathered item research? That’s probably poppycock, so… I’m sorry, I’ve no real idea.

How do I know that other members don't have a solution they can offer until they tell me so?

I have had several encounters with Dave and he has never been remotely helpful. He has never offered suggestions or explanations, rather he is sarcastic and disparaging. How was he helpful? His comment that eBay "It is probably possible. It is probable that eBay did it for a reason" makes no sense. What is probably possible? Of course eBay did it for a reason, but that doesn't help me. If Dave has nothing to offer it would be better if he didn't reply.

Thanks davewill964. Helpful as always *. What I discovered is that you cannot move an item in the Item Specifics section. eBay has only moved it for CDs, not for vinyl. It is a nuisance but I will cope. No doubt eBay had a reason for the change (or it is at least probably possible, whatever that means).
