Where is "Top Rated Seller" (TRS) Visible to an eBay Buyer
Summary: The discussion revolves around the visibility of the "Top Rated Seller" (TRS) designation on eBay, specifically from a buyer's perspective. Participants, including drifter2047, *casey*, countessalmirena, sandypebbles, je_outlet_store, lezned-toycollector, e_purchasing, and springyzone, exchange information and seek clarity on when and where the TRS badge appears during the buyer's shopping experience. The conversation also involves troubleshooting experiences and user observations related to this feature on eBay.
I have been a Top Rated Seller on eBay (TRS) for years and never really migrated to (TRS+) only on a few small items. Recently I have noticed that Top Rated Seller is only indicated in the Feedback profile. It used to I believe located in the sellers listing under "About this seller" in the profile and also if you went to the sellers shop on eBay it was also identified there?
Does anyone else know any more? I know the TRS Badge was abolished for TRS+
But now I cannot see Top Rated seller and
- One of eBay's most reputable sellers.
- Consistently delivers outstanding customer service.
In the places it was and should be?
A google search on "Where is top rated seller displayed in eBay" produces this
- Feedback Profile: The primary place to see your status.
- Seller Dashboard: Where you confirm you have met the performance standards.
- Benefits: Includes enhanced search visibility and eligibility for the Top Rated Plus seal (10% final value fee discount on qualifying listings).
- Distinction: If you are a Top Rated Seller but do not offer 30-day free returns and 1-day handling, you are a Top Rated Seller without a listing badge.

·4 months agoI can see it under the 'About' section & I noticed you gave yourself a little picture of a top rated seller badge.
I can't see mention of it in the actual ads.
I'm guessing it means a lot to you, but I can honestly say that as a buyer, your 100% feedback rating means a lot more to me, plus the fact you are located in Australia.

·4 months agoIt is all totally meaningless now that eBay class beyond dodgy sellers registered in China as such
Plus eBay automated feedback for equally dodgy sellers
Everything is still where it was though, as soon as I checked your feedback page it is where it always has been for all sellers

·4 months agoIs automated positive feedback actually working? In the seller newsletter back in January, they said it was starting in March, but I haven't received any automated feedback.

·4 months agoYes. After just checking, I received 8 on this account yesterday, bumping my score by 1.

·4 months agoOh wait, there's a checkbox you have to tick to see them. I actually have 4. 👍

"A google search"
I'm not sure why either the Google Search / AI overview or the Help page don't mention a seller's ABOUT page.
It's always shown underneath where and when a seller registered.
This is from your About page
Top Rated Seller
drifter2047 is one of eBay's most reputable sellers. Consistently delivers outstanding customer service

❝ • Sellers are not allowed to use the eBay Top Rated Seller (eTRS) logos, icons or similar artwork on eBay, other websites or offline materials
• Sellers may not make any claims about being a Top Rated Seller in their item description, even if they hold that status❞

NB: Increasingly, scam sellers and hijacked accounts are “awarded” Top-Rated Seller status, and experienced eBay users are advising buyers not to trust this logo/badge. If you’re giving great service, sending items quickly, making sure items are as described, etc., you’re going to create a much better impression as a seller than relying on TRS.

You're shown as a top rated seller at the top of your feedback page and on your About page.
But then it also shows in the same place for shonky Chinese dropshipping sellers with poor feedback so I always advise buyers to ignore the term completely
