Who pays return postage if the item is faulty?
Summary: The discussion revolves around the question of who should bear the cost of return postage if an item is found to be faulty. Several participants engaged in the conversation, but their contributions do not provide specific details or perspectives on resolving the issue. It's a query that remains open without a conclusive answer from the participants.
I bought a top and paid $10.95 postage for its delivery. The top had a row of holes (about 40cms long)where decorative stitching had been unpicked. (Not stated in the description).
I requested a return because it was faulty even though the seller stated she doesn’t accept returns. I posted yesterday at a cost of $10.95.
The seller asked me for the amount of the refund which I provided.(the cost of the top plus the two postage costs)
She now disagrees with paying the return cost.
Who is responsible for the return cost if the fault was not noted in description?

·1 year agoI think you can (after the fact) providing you are still within time limits.....just need to upload tracking to the dispute. Someone who has experienced this might confirm??

As it is, the seller should pay for return postage, but you have no way to enforce it as you didn't use the tools eBay provide.

·1 year agoSellers not accepting returns is only for a change of mind on the buyers part
If the item does not match the description, you open and follow through with an item not as described dispute
The seller has to pay for/provide a return label if they want the item back
Not as described, the seller does not get a say
Don't waste your time asking for a 'return' open the dispute
Follow through with it
Ignore the seller's nonsense and games
