Auspost domestic letter (untracked)
Summary: to677828 expressed concern over a delivery method used for sending a starter generator, which seemed inappropriate for the item's weight. lezned-toycollector pointed out that such an item cannot be sent as a letter due to weight restrictions. sandypebbles mentioned that the seller's listing might have misleading details, and *casey* suggested the listing was copied from a USA seller. They advised opening a claim if the item does not arrive by the estimated delivery date. e_purchasing identified the situation as dropshipping from Amazon, which is not allowed on eBay, and recommended requesting money back if the item does not arrive on time.
Is it common practice to send a package containing a starter generator weighing a couple of kilos via this method of delivery. It just doesn't make sense. I still have a couple of days till the estimated delivery date has expired but the purchase is within Australia and was dispatched on the 15th. September. Any clues.
Cheers

·1 week ago · EditedThere are a number of reasons a listing may display Untracked letterpost.
1- Seller uses sell similar from one of their other listings that was low cost/weight and may not realise to update
2-Seller cannot be bothered determining the actual method to send by as it may change day to day and location to locationor they may deliver it themselves, thus eleviating the need to upload tracking or to give explainations why the item is taking so long type questions as letterpost delivery calculates at 7 business days +handling time
3-Seller is dropshipping from Amazon and can't upload a tracking number (especially Amazon FBA)
In your case, it is #3 because the 23A 12V Starter Generator for Club Car DS FE290 FE350 is listed there same images for $324 and it has to come internationally.
Dropshipping is allowed on eBay, However, dropshipping from Amazon is NOT allowed on eBay, As others have said, if the item does not arrive by the due date, open an item not received (after midnight) and request money back.
The problem you face next is if the item arrives a few days after and they submit a tracking number showing delivered, the case will close.
The next step would be to lodge an return request as it does not match the description and cite "item dropshipped/delivered through Amazon and not eBay as represented in the listing"
Make sure to leave negative feedback stating they are dropshipping via Amazon.
If you are not urgent for the item, you know where to order it for $100 less

It's a copy and paste of an Amazon / ebay USA seller's listing.
The description on your item shows:
ABOUT US: Parts World USA sources auto parts of superior quality from manufacturers across the globe and bring them to your doorstep. All our products are newly manufactured, right from the factory, and will fit your vehicle directly.
USA listing 187467822678
The minute the last estimated delivery date finishes , open an 'item not received' claim through eBay's Money Back Guarantee

·1 week agoWhat is the item number?
You say it doesn't make sense, but it would have stated Auspost domestic letter (untracked) on the listing before you purchased
And if it is from the most recent seller to leave you feedback, their feedback is garbage, their photos lifted from other sites and not a seller one should be buying a starter generator from

The maximum thickness of a letter is 20mm
Based on the information you have provided, it is impossible to send it as a letter.
