Hi everyone, I'm in need of some advice, since I can't reach an agent to ask directly.
Basically, I'm in Australia and I'm looking at purchasing something from the US (as I do semi-regularly) but I notice the cost of shipping is well over $40AUD, so I message the seller to ask if the price of shipping is negotiable. They try to change it on their end, but neither of us can see a difference in the displayed amount. I then try to contact an agent through live chat, but I've had absolutely no luck, so I'm reaching out here. What would cause the shipping price to glitch out like that? Is it better to adjust the item costs to account for the shipping, or will it take a day or two for those changes to show?
Any ideas, or is this a bug with the website itself?

·1 week ago@blackpanthermaelyss Is the item listed with eIS as the postage for international sales? If so, the seller cannot change the shipping amount unless the dimensions and weight are altered (only a good idea if the seller has originally overestimated dimensions and weight).
Do you want to post the item number? Members could then check the listing to see if it’s something else in the event that I'm off-base with the eIS suggestion.

(I'm very paranoid about posting the item number, since it's to replace a very, very old sentimental item but last time I shared a link to another item, an ebay member bought it, so that's why I'm very wary of doing so)

And no need now: the screenshot you’ve posted of the postage information is all that’s needed to confirm (as sandypebbles has said) that it is indeed listed with eIS for international shipping. (That is, it states US $30.92 (approx. AU $43.16) eBay International Shipping.)
Hence that does confirm my suspicion about why the postage amount can’t be adjusted by the seller.
All that the seller can do is adjust the price of domestic shipping, and that would apply to the cost of the seller posting the item to one of eBay’s local shipping hubs.
Once it’s received by eBay, the parcel will be managed by eBay, not the seller. There will be two tracking numbers: the first (domestic shipping from seller to nearest eBay shipping hub, the second from eBay shipping hub to you (international shipping).
To reiterate, the US $30.92 is set by eIS. That price is the price is the price.
