Did you give permission for this payment? (That is, either knowingly or unknowingly… or was it taken without your having given any permission such as may occur if your card details have become stolen or your identity compromised?)
Who did you call? Whence did you get the number? (eBay’s real call centre (phone call centre) has been closed since the start of the pandemic and the only way (usually, in most circumstances) to get in touch with eBay CS is to use Live Chat, using the link on every Help page on the eBay.com.au website.)
Were you contacted by email, text message or phone by someone claiming to be eBay saying that money had been taken from your account? (In which case it was NOT eBay contacting you, rather a scam call centre cold-calling people pretending to be eBay and pretending to help people but actually scamming them.)
What were you told when you requested a refund?
