The bot above should be pointing out how eBay protects and supports drop shipping and supports dangerous products/items being sold by refusing to remove these items despite the fact they are all against eBay policy, which eBay PRETENDS to enforce for 'safety'

eBay fully supports these scammers and no matter how many policies these scammers breach, when reported, eBay say they are not breaking any polices

One such seller posted on here recently, wanted to know how they can keep doing what they are doing (drop shipping, search manipulation, items they are not authorised to sell, the list goes on) BUT be paid 'instantly instead of having holds on funds, 100% supported by eBay who provided pretty much 95% of this scammers positive feedback (eBay automated feedback)

They go out of their way to make sure these scammers keep on scamming

When you buy from Amazon or Aliexpress, the items are no doubt posted and delivered to you directly from A or A according to the postage option offered.

eBay items are sent by individual sellers who set their own postage options.

Sellers trying to protect their own feedback .

But the eBay items are advertised as being in Australia !

Looking at some of your past sellers, they're 'pretending' the items are in Australia.

They're Chinese dropshippers, they have multiple IDs, they lie and cheat, to the detriment of good, Australian sellers !

Many of the buyers won't receive their items at all.

eBay boosts their feedback and % with automated positive feedback.

Always look at all of the seller's feedback before your purchase.

Always look at where the seller is registered before you purchase.

It's shown at the top of their feedback page or their About page.

Look at the delivery date timespan as that's often longer than the usual postage within Australia from a seller to a buyer.

I honestly think that if you look for Australian sellers with good feedback you'll have less problems as although I can't guarantee it, I think you'll find that they'll usually post using the delivery option shown on the listing.

@ casey and @ Clickbargains The problem is that as a buyer, we see a cheap small item on ebay with standard untracked postage and we assume it will land in our post box like every other small parcel. But for some reason, it doesn't happen with ebay purchases. It might be because its coming from China but my experience is that when I buy something from Aliexpress it does end up in my letterbox, so it makes me (and others I'm sure) not want to continue to use ebay anymore. The trip to the post office is just too inconvenient. And messaging a seller prior to purchasing cheap small items is a pain too. It's easier just to check Amazon or Aliexpress, press the buy button and move on. I would think that good Ebay sellers would be concerned that people are turning their backs on Ebay because of this. The last thing I had to go to the post office for was definitely small enough to fit in my letter box. 10 small Microfiber wipes for my reading glasses.

My experience has been that some sellers choose “untracked letter post” because they are actually drop‑shipping from overseas, most commonly China. After several days they add a tracking number — usually once the item reaches Australia — which gives the impression it was locally posted.

Only items that physically fit within Australia Post’s letter‑post requirements can be sent as untracked letters. The envelope can be large and preferably cardboard, but it must not exceed 20 mm in thickness. Anything thicker must go as a parcel and cannot be sent as untracked letter post.

At Clickbargains we sell items such as camera lens caps and filter adapter rings, which legitimately fit within the letter‑post size limits. Although these items are manufactured to order in China, we never list them until stock is physically in our Tamworth location. All such orders are posted directly by us using standard stamps, because eBay’s postage system does not generate labels for letter‑post items.

Reply vs Comment: what a mess

This thread is a superb example of how confusing, messy, ghastly and time-wasting the new board layout is.

Anyone using the Reply option repeatedly is being forced into creating ever-narrowing slithering snakes in terms of format, to the point that the discussion becomes unreadable for all practical purposes.

It also puts those thin writhing tangled mess of asps out of order to the discussion as a whole. For a reader to find a new reply requires a Where’s Wally? approach and some paracetamol.

Therefore — as it’s useless expecting eBay to fix this ridiculous mess — please please PLEASE help to keep discussions coherent and perspicuous by using the Comment button, not Reply… at least for the most part.

Directing your post to specific individual or post without using Reply?

To address another poster directly in your comment, you can use the @ button and address the poster by their username. (Or just use the username.) We can also quote from a specific post if we want to show exactly to what we are referring in a comment. By using the Comment button, at least posts will follow chronologically and thus save many a headache.

Hi Luke. I post my papers Australia Post Registered Post with tracking number as I can then use a sturdy Envelope with tracking at a reasonable price through Australia Post. I do announce on my site that is the postage used. I can understand your problem if you are not home when it is delivered. Other postage for letter post up to 500g is not suitable for papers to be sent so no damage in transit. I will not send my items without tracking as have had problems in the past. Maybe just contact the sellers beforehand and maybe they can accomodate your problem.

The carrier would have to be Aust Post and only them as Aust Post will not accept parcels for people to collect from them that come via 3rd party carriers such as imile, Couriers Please, Aramex etc

Furthermore, it is the seller and not eBay that controls how it is sent in a majority of instances especially for items under $20 so it has nothing to do with eBay.

This sounds more like a china post item which only get to an LPO for collection in rural areas.

I'm also pretty sure that letters are now delivered every 2nd or 3rd day in rural areas by Aus Post so not sure how you are getting letters daily.

You obviously have to go to town at least once a week to do your grocery shopping so plan to collect any mail at the same time. Post offices keep items for at least 2 weeks so I see no problem for you.

Are you rural? What is your postcode?

There is really no need to tell other members you are not going to use eBay for a while
