That size chart isn't correct. An Australian 16 is a UK 18 and US 14. I know as I've bought clothes from both countries.

UK sizes are generally one size ahead ie. an AUS 12 is a UK 14.

A UK L would be an AUS 14, UK M AUS 12 and UK S an AUS 10. At least that's my experience. I think the clothes from brands like Marks and Spencer, Top Shop, H&M, Primemarc (so just standard to cheap brands) are more consistent than Australian sizes.

In saying that I have a pair of size 30 Top Shop jeans that fit really well yet I STRUGGLE to get my Sass & Bide size 32's done up. (which is why I don't wear them). So clearly the sizing isn't always consistent.

Zara tends to run smaller, but it's a Spanish brand, so maybe the Spaniards are all skinny!

I don't think any charts are accurate take this link as an example it says UK clothes charts are smaller i.e. size 10 UK = size 12 Australia.

The only way you can tell is to try on, I am an Aus size 10/12 depending on where I buy my clothes when I was last in the UK I bought a skirt and it was size 10 UK I also bought pants and they were a size 8UK
