Seeing we enjoyed Bobs math question so much:

This must be done in your head only.

Do not use paper and pencil or a calculator

Take 1000 and add 40 to it. Now add another 1000 now add 30. Add another 1000.

Now Add 20...now add another 1000

Now add 10.

What is the total?

Welcome back bump. So you got 5000, right? Just kidding. 🙂

When adding there can be a tendency to round the last of the smaller figures to 1000 rather than 100. A play on the mind if you don't concentrate.

This morning I redid it & now I get 4100, lol adding it a bit more slowly made the difference for me. I couldn't see how anyone got 4100 last night, I went over it and still got 5000
