This is currently my most 'liked' photo on instagram. It's one I took for the photo a day challenge and the prompt was 'entrance'. This is at the entrance to the local car wreckers.

Hi ya Soul, not everyone has arty crafty stuff to show, but everyone has a favourite photo or two (or elebenty hundred) so to keep the Art thread manageable I thought a seperate photo thread would be the go 🙂

The frosty grass wouldn't snap but the smaller weeds, like clover will bruise.

Does this instagram thingy edit the photos at all? like change the colours or depth of field?

The bird pic is really peaceful skwerl and yep, I agree about EVERYONE having pics to share who may want to join in here rather than the art thread.

My instagram pics are all taken on my phone, you can then choose a filter, brighten, blur and add a border if you like. Then I send them to instagram and facebook as well.

Some people use their 'real' cameras and still use instagram to upload them, I'm not sure how they do that exactly.

I know there are alot of instagram haters out there, but I really consider it the modern version of the old polaroids.

Cosmo, the filters you use, are they part of your phone? I just got a new phone but it doesn't have a compatible editing app yet 😞

Originally instagram was just for iphones, but you can get it for Android phones now. I guess it depends what kind of editing you want to do? The filters are part of instagram.

There was no prompt for the cats, my sister was here for a weekend and had bought them at a garage sale. They were sitting on a little side table at my mums in front of a strong sunlit window. That was the result.

DSK that's a lovely photo, looks like Canola? We get canola fields here, they look stunning, although cause some grief for the hay fever sufferers.

You just copy the photo onto your phone/tablet then in Instagram you can chose the pic and add the filer.. It doesn't have to be taken with your phone camera...

Here is one that I took on my camera and applied a filter using Instagram on my phone

Also if you don't have a smart phone that uses instagram you can find many free photo editing sites online or even free programs that you can download
