WTF.....happened to Australian Spirit?....

What do you think....are we roooooned? Does anyone have the same sense of 'existential dread', that I'm feeling lately for the future of Australia?........? Lib Labor..doesn't matter, they BOTH don't get it I reckon.

Who cares? It makes the point eh Hawk? remember the days? Aren't we all feeling just a ted defeated and hen pecked by Bipartisan egos? I know I am. There were much better days in Australian politics.....times that inspired us and united us....I wish.....

The people who stand up for what they believe in have not deminished in numbers even though they have been tried to be repressed. And I am not refering to either side of the political devide.

I think politically the country is in a no mans land because the current govt can't implement policies thanks to a hung parliament. And we have an opposition that is simply reflecting the degenerative bad behaviour of a nation in general.

Aside from politics, what I see and hear every day astounds me. Aside from the "me, me and stuff everyone else mentality", there is an overwhelming rudeness and arrogance that pervades everything. I was on the train the other night and some guy was screaming at another passenger to keep her (newborn) baby quiet. Others in the carriage were nodding even though this poor woman was clearly upset and scared. Yet when I point out there is little that can be done about a crying baby, I was abused. What kind of society thinks it's OK to take on a new mother and her baby in a public place? That kind of thing is what I feel dread about.

I have no problem with people standing up for what they believe, but I'm starting to get pretty annoyed with a handful trying to force their beliefs down everyone else 's throats.

Cue in all honesty, I don't see that much difference in the two major political parties, other than one spends too much, the other does'nt spend enough.

here in Vic., today it was announced that sadly citizens are obeying the laws and revenue is down on parking fines therefore parking fees have to be increased to fill the coffers. On the same day our politicians announced a huge pay increase for themselves when the police force, nurses & teachers have been fighting for years to get a meagre increase. Something is wrong with this picture

& IR scares me
