What is going on with the date formats on threads?

Why are the dates formats on threads changed to the USA date system....month/day/year

Previously it was the Australian date format......day/month/year.

The USA system is even being used for the date of posters joining ebay.

For those that don't know where it is.

Select my settings then preferences and display.

Scroll to date display format.

Change and save.
