There's a lot of speculation about this last desperate attempt for Rudd to strut the international stage? He has left open the idea that he may attend.

It's the 5/6th Sept in Russia. How could he anyway? Wouldn't that run into 6/7th Sept in Aust?

The election is lost, all he has to look forward to is the crow he has to eat when he concedes political defeat & then the party will rid themselves of him for good.

Sooo.... he may use the Syria conflict again for politial purposes.
